So Saturday, buddy and I were listening to the radio and a news report came on about another round of wildfires in California, this time in Malibu. Latigo Canyon was mentioned and I was like, "Oh no! Axl Rose lives there. If his house burns down, he'll NEVER put out his album."
Well, apparently his property was burned, but his house intact. According to his maid/personal assistant, he fought off the fire with a garden hose until firefighters arrived: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=85524
We'll still probably never see the album, since his house didn't burn down, I'll give Chinese Democracy a 10% chance of coming out instead of 0%.

Personally, i hope it never comes out. That way we can only dream of how awesome it could be and not have Axl release it and find out, it's only meh.

The current rumored release date is February 12, 2008. Personally, I believe it, just like I believed the November 2006 and March 2007 dates...

It's never coming. "Chinese Democracy" has just been a cover up for a secret government operation Axl is the head of. Ironically, his mission is to bring democracy to China.

Irony is when the exact opposite happens of what was expected.
ie A man has a dynomite plunger wired to a stack of TNT some distance away. When he depresses the plunger, instead of the TNT exploding, he does.
That is ironic.
My guess is the release date will co-inside with the Chinese Democratic Revolution. Which may never happen, only time will tell.

The album won't suck, and if it does no one will notice. Its been built in everybody's minds for so long all the GN'R fans that actually care will think its awesome as long as it doesn't REALLY suck, but that won't happen because it's Axl Rose.

For years now I've still been holding on to a tiny, glimmering bit of hope that the original GNR will reform someday. Well, maybe not the original drummer....
Although realistically I know this is about as likely as a Beatles' Reunion.
