Eh, I'm still gonna buy a PS3 (for MGS4 alone) with the outrageous amounts of cash I will get every month from December until 2009.
I love being spoiled, and I love my mom winning lawsuits.
But it's a Wii and 360 first before anything, don't scream at me! |
If it's truly outrageous, hook us up too!

I'm still having a blast with my 360 vs. my PC and everything, coupled with old classic games. The only problem I have with 360 right now is that I've played everything I want to....I think I might get Mass Effect though, even though it doesn't look like something i'd play I saw it the other day in action and it was awesome.

I'm getting a 360 and one of the new $400 PS3s. |
If you're talking about the 40GB version, I suggest you get another version instead. The 40GB one doesn't have PS2 backwards compatibility, while the other three models (20, 60, 80) all have it.

You know people keep bringing that up, but really if you allready own a PS2, do you need backwards compatiblity on your PS3? Have we become so lazy as a society that we can no longer get off our lazy asses and dust off an older game system to play older games? What do you do, if you want to play a NES game that hasn't been released on VC yet?
You could play a ROM image, sure.
But, what if you want to play it on your giant TV with the real NES controller?
I thought people bought new game system to play new games on?
And, besides, do you really want to wear out your PS3 playing PS2 games on it? (Trust me, Playstations do and will wear out. I went through 3 PSX and 2 PS2 systems.)

Well, I'm not sure if it's worth it, but if you own an HDTV PS2/PS1 compatibility seems excellent because I think PS3 upscales the games to HD resolution. There not suppose to suddenly look awesome but at least they would look less muddy and nasty then regular PS2 with component. 360 BC support does a good job at this.

Old games look like shit when you blow them up to obscene resolutions, in all honesty.

Yeah, but they look better then cramming the low res image on an HD LCD, at least in my case.

That's what my S-Video cable, sound AUX cord, and game controller adapter are for.

Thats what I do sometimes. Computer VGA or component to TV etc, then it shows up good on my LCD. I would rather play on real stuff but still.
