Looks like it would have been a better Steven King TV Miniseries than a movie.
And, I like my sencond title better, and I sticking with that one.

Hell YEAH!!!
Even though I was already won over by the film simply because I love the novella and Frank Darabont's adaptation of King's other work, what really won me over in this trailer was: Jeffrey DeMunn!!!! Go reoccurring actors
I'm also going to say that "The Mist" is a movie; the novella even reads like one. I'm glad they didn't go the "Desperation" route, cause this movie needed Darabont and a budget. We have gotten both! And already the film looks 568% better than "Silent Hill".

I love how every trailer for a King-based movie is like "From the master of terror, Stephen King!" when he's not that scary and every movie they make based off his stories share very little with the source material beyond title and character names. I mean, read 1408 then go see the movie. The hotel manager is described as a short, fat nervous white guy (Sam Jackson was obviously the ideal choice here), the main character's wife is mentioned only in passing, he has no daughter who died, he doesn't get attacked by ghosts, the room doesn't freeze (though it does melt), the police are not called and do not enter the room to find it empty while he's still in it and he gets away from the room fairly quickly. Also, the story is really fairly boring. King hasn't really written anything scary since probably It and he hasn't written anything interesting since Dreamcatcher. And while The Mist was a decent short story (largely an homage to Lovecraft who was a real horror author), I doubt the movie will be anything but crap.

That's not true, he's written about why he loves The Red Sox, 24, and Lost; that's always interesting to read about.

FUCKING AMAZING!!!
Seriously, the best horror film I've seen in too long time. I think the adults are going to like this more than the kids though.

I was going to see it Thursday night, but after getting to the theater 5 minutes into the trailers and seeing the MASSIVE lines at even the card-based box office, I said screw it and played Super Mario Galaxy. Still planning on seeing it though.
