Armored Warriors, a semi-obscure beat 'em up by Capcom.

Its sequel, Cybots, was a straight-up fighting game.

I cant believe you would even think of leaving out Battletoads. At least the arcade version. Would super high impact count? I know its a football game but it did award you for beating the crap out of the other team with the zaney anouncer.

Battletoads arcade is fun. The console versions fucking suck balls and are impossible, broken pieces of shit.

Hey now, Battlemaniacs for the SNES is pretty fun, as long as you keep trying hard at it. Can we consider the Golden Axe series as a "beat-um up"? Golden Axe II would make the list for me.

Of course we can. Golden Axe is a textbook beat 'em up.

Why wouldn't it be considered a beat 'em up? It is certainly more of one than any of the console versions of BattleToads, what with all their fucking racing levels.
