As is mentioned several times in the responces, nobody went on a killing spree when the NES Zapper came out with Duck Hunt. Plus, the Wii Zapper looks more like an SMG when set up, something no child would have access to in the first place.

Shitty parents want the media to raise their kids for them because they're absolutely terrible failures who have no clue have to raise them on their own, next on Fox.

The Super Scope was the best. I went on a bazooka-related killing spree after playing with it twice. Also, the Super Scope was fucking heavy, so it helped me to get used to holding a real bazooka.

Next time on Fox News: Parents blame the touchscreen on the DS for the increase in rape crimes. Also, Jack Thompson rambles about Counter-Strike and dolphin-safe tuna, tonight at 6:00.

Uhh...maybe I'm missing the point, but toys guns have been around since, oh, FOREVER. It's not like the Wii Zapper is the first toy gun in history. And so what if it's for the Wii and Nintendo is a more child oriented company, it's the same as any other thing you don't approve of your kids having; you have the option to NOT BUY IT. Afraid little Timmy is going to go on a killing spree if he does all that practice shooting on the Wii? Don't buy the fucking thing. Also, what games is it supposed to work with beyond (I assume, since I don't have a Wii) Umbrella Chronicles which is a mature game your idiot kids shouldn't be playing anyway?

To answer that last question, the Wii Zapper comes wih Link's Crossbow Training and you could use it for the Shooting Gallery of Wii Play.

I find it funny how parents can go crazy over a piece of PLASTIC! When I was a kid I had a battery powered AK-47 squirtgun and 2 45 cal. squirt guns. Now THEY were made to look real. They were even BLACK! Hell, I even rember going to chuck e cheeze and playing the trad shooting game they had. They gave you a Light gun that was shaper and weighted like a real shotgun and even had a little requoil on it. Man.....I miss the late 80's sometimes....... but ONLY sometimes.

Good....... Bad......... I'm the guy with the gun

This is kind of the same as when people were saying Grand Theft Auto causes violence...

Or whatever. I think that game is a stress reducer for sure. nothin beats running into a group o' thugs on a bad day with a flamethrower...

Movies are more influential on me...Shooter for example...I own three more rifles now because of that silly movie

I thought it was just a plastic shell that the remote and nunchuck fitted in. I figured that it would be compatible with all games.

This topic reminds me that I was supposed to join the Republican Party to spite my older brother who's adopted this kind of bullshit mentality. At least that way my kids can sit back and illegally wiretap and shit, which sounds fun as hell.

Seriously? You should not kill him, just to prove him wrong.

You could be a libertarian instead. Support gun rights without being a crazy mountain person or a snobbish redneck.

Stupid parents that don't lock up their gun.

For instance, my grandfather has always owned a Magnum for home protection, but I didn't even know this until a few years ago. Why? Because he didn't talk about it, hid it and locked it up, and I wasn't allowed to go scrounging around my grandparents' closet.
