Because then you go buy more stuff
I recently finished paying off a projector I bought. I got lucky too. I have a credit card with no interest as long as I don't spend over a certain amount and make my payments in time. Go online bill pay! Anyways.
So Yeh, I pay this card off and what do I do?
I took a nice little trip over to newegg. It's time for new goodies. I got...
a new dvd burner...a bigger hard drive (500gb @ 16mb)...surround sound...anyone heard of the z5500? Heh. I'm a bit excited. Yay for gadgets.
Anyone else make any impulse buys lately?

My latest impulse purchase was a $5000 penalty fee for being delinquent on my student loans. Pay your bills on time, kids!

Good advice bjork. But I used to do my impulse buying Sunday mornings. Waking up still w/a buzz from Saturday night and going to Boston Market, the comic book shop, and then Best Buy. Just buying a ton of CD's, DVD's, comic books, and large sides of mashed potatoes. Alas, since my friend got married he's been MIA since, so I have no one to do that shit w/anymore. Probably for the best.
Oh yeah, the last impulse buy for me was a 360 Elite when I bought the Kanye CD. It was Tuesday night and I was drunk. Damn my drunken impulse-buying habits.

always fun. I'm considering a non-impulse buy as well. I want a ninja 250 just to smash around on
note : Have you seen the 08' Ninja 250R?
It looks like a zx-6 ><

I just finished paying off one of my three student loans, which is always nice.
And like everything I buy is impulsive... that's why I try to stay off eBay.

I love filling the void in my soul with material possessions. Just kiddin'. The last impulse buy I made was probably a large pizza or a bag of pot.

It's about $27000 total that I owe now. Should only take approximated 50,000 years to pay off.

That sucks you can't even declare bankruptcy to get that cleared off either. Better use that degree for something, once I pay off the remainder of this credit card I'm looking for 2 LCD tv's for the show. That should be an expensive purchase.

I'd rather weather the debt than do a bankruptcy, any day. Paying something off looks better than copping out imo.

My last impulse buy was an organ (of the musical persuasion) for $10 from work...it's still there cuz I have nowhere at home to put it. Yeah my studnet fees just got paid off and my loan came through (My pain's just beginning guys!) and I got a second job, so I'm gonna buy a PS3, Guitar Hero 3, and a guitar

Well well well mister fancy pants, I have 5 and two ukuleles, one of which is a flying V!
...and an organ too, kinda. Anyway, a double-neck OLP Musicman. I have a single neck and swear by it, and I'm buying guitars that will serve different purposes.

I don't know if these count as impulse purchases, but I recently spent a buttload of money on a new computer and a tattoo removal.
And now that I want to impulsively buy a plasma TV, I can't. (Shouldn't)
I guess I'm not that impulsive afterall.....

I'd recommend an lcd...if you don't really mind size...olevia has some of the best picture quality (yes better than sony + samsung for example) and olevia tv's are dirt cheap now.
720p 27'' for 399.99 on newegg is a freakin bargain
1080p is ahead of it's time and overpriced anyways. Wait a year on that if you planned on it.

The tattoo is a Chinese character for "strength" on my shoulder. Seemed like a good idea when I was 17 in 1998. (Somehow I envision Syd doing an article on these around the year 2015 or so.)
It was about 1 inch by 1 inch....not very big. The normal rate to get it removed would have been $1,000, but I know someone who works there, so I'm getting a 50% discount.
I just had the process done about a month ago, and there is already significant fading. It's going to take 4 more sessions and about 9 more months to completely finish the procedure.

Yea I'm not very educated on HDTV, so I will need to do a lot of research. I've heard people say similiar things about going for cheaper brands that are just as good.
I don't know if I'm ready for 1080P yet, anyway. I think you need a Blue-Ray player to make that even worthwhile, don't you? I don't feel like spending for one of those yet. (It's not the cost of the player, but the cost of the MOVIES that puts me off.)
My primary reason for wanting one is to play my Xbox360. I think 1080i is probably all I would need for that.

1080i = 720p except progressive scan > interlaced. I'd highly recommend getting 720p over a 1080i tv. The olevia's I was talking about are 720p/1080i. Check em out on newegg....I'll post a link of the one I ended up gettin and I don't think I could be happier.

I got a 42' Maxent Plasma 1080i HD set for $1299 at best buy a couple years ago. Gears of War was absolutely fan-fucking-tastic on it. So are the HD channels. LG's are fairly priced and have great picture quality. Or you can go with generic and screw around with the contrast, color and brightness to get the same look. Just don't let them talk you into a $100 surge protector, because the tv "needs" it to work properly.
