Did anyone else play Commando? I actually own a copy of it for my NES... not the greatest game, but it beats the hell out of the frustratingly impossible Ikari Warriors NES game.
I remember buying Bionic Commando because one of my friends told me it was the sequel to Commando... Other than Super Joe, I don't see any continuity.

I had the Atari 2600 version of Commando. It was obviously craptastic, being as it was on the 2600, but it was also strangely addictive.
Guerrilla War is like a better version of Commando. Best NES co-op game ever.

Guerilla War was a little bit too fast. I kept on killing the hostages and I can't focus with 16 explosions on the screen.
I beat Commando for the NES a dozen times. All 16 levels. Oh, and if you're into SMS games, try Rambo First Blood Part II. It's like Sega's answer to Commando.
Megaman in SSBB would be pretty nice, and I think the new Bionic Commando looks FPSish.
Master-D still looked like Hitler though, and an in-game sequence where you blew up his head was left in.
I saw an animated GIF of that sequence and it almost gave me nightmares. I dunno, I can take gory games like Resident Evil 4 and Duke Nukem 3D and other recent ones, but NES and old computer gory graphics just get to me. It's like it gets scarier the more pixelated it is.
I'm the same way. 3d gore is alright but 2d gore is insane. Metroid scared me for life . . . and i thank it for that.
I'm not thrilled about any old NES game going 3d. Espacially Mega Man. Mega Man 64 anyone:
. . . one of the few N64 games i will never play . . .
And that Air Man costume is awesome. Must of cause a shit load though.
I remember that game as "mega man legends"..... It was an okay game on the playstation.... but the 64 could have mucked it up...

Since this started off as a Bionic Commando bash thread, I figured this would be the best place to add this w/out making a new topic up. 1up.com preview:
Quote:
As announced earlier this week, Bionic Commando takes place 10 years after the NES original, with Spencer falsely convicted of murder, stripped of his wondrous limb, and sentenced to death. However, on the day of his scheduled execution, Ascension City is bombed and Spencer is given a full reprieve (and reunited with his bionic attachment) in return for his services in tracking down the terrorists. The woefully dilapidated city seen in the brief demo provided a wonderland of twisted metal and protruding surfaces for Spencer to grab hold of, but it will not be the only setting in the game, as a forest is shown in the screenshots and the team at GRIN hinted at additional surroundings to explore.
