So, there was this big storm and magically after a big boom my internet went down. My LAN line has been dead for a week and in the mean time, my wireless connections have been shit. During that week i realized something . . . I'm addicted to the internet. All i thought about was when my internet was going to get up and running. I had no choice but to wait it out and the week has been hell.

I don't know how long i could really last but a week sounds about right. So the question remains, how long could you last without the internet?

I had dial-up until 2001, then the modem on our PC got fried. I just got cable internet early this year. Before that, once I got my laptop in '05, I had to pirate shitty connections off of my neighbors. So I'm able to last for five years without internet, and seven years without GOOD internet.

I've had dial-up for five years. I've lasted months when its gone, but I start to get bugged after a while.

Up until I had to either write a check and mail it in to pay a bill, or talk to someone over the phone to pay a bill.

I "forgot" to pay my internet bill the last 3 months, and without any warning, they disconnected me yesterday.... I'm going crazy without MY connection... I'm able to steal the neighbors 75% of the time, but when the connection drops, I feel like I'm losing a limb...
Thankfully I'll be at work all weekend, where I have unlimited access to the net!

On days I didn't have to go to work or to school, I've spen close to 12 hours surfing the web. I'm not proud of it.

The fact is the web has all I need. Free movies? Check. Free MST3K? Check. Downloadable CPU games? Check. Once I get my Xbox 360, I'm going to hook it up to my monitor and my Verizon Fios modem, and play that way. As far as I'm concered, cable TV is obsolete.

I had to buy a bicycle just to get outside once and a while.

I could probably last as long as possible. I never had internet until some time around '06. Plus, ever since I got it I've pretty much neglected my poor little Gamecube. So if my parents couldn't pay for it anymore I could just play Cubivore all the time.

Yeah. I'd probably give my PS2 and Wii more playtime.

I just stream it from youtube. Just type in "MST3k [name of episode]" Don't know the name of the episode? They're listed here:

http://www.geocities.com/opheliaskiss01/MightyJack/Home.html

Typing in "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" works occasionaly too. I would guess that over 80% of the episodes are there, including all the classics like Manos, Final Sacrifice, and Space Mutiny.

Oh . . . youtube. that is in fact were i do most of my MST viewing. I thought you found a special site that does not remove videos on a daily basis. BTW, your sig is the one on Puma man, one of them i have yet to see. How is it? I haven't seen much MST lately. In fact, after the last Gammera movie they riffed, i haven't seen any more since.

I wish they were still around and riff some of todays bad movies. some of those movies are just egging to get riffed.

The one thing i remember most about MST is the theme song:

Google Video has a lot of full-length episodes. I'd suggest watching Space Mutiny, even if you've seen it before. It's fucking hilarious.

Yeah, sorry, but most of the best episodes are on YouTube, I don't think they get removed because the MST3k guys actively encouraged tape trading while they were on the air, as in bootleg taped episodes of their show.

As you can tell, I just changed my signture. 10 points if you can guess where it's from. [Hint: Char just suggested you watch it]

Pumaman is definately one of my favorite episodes. In fact here's my top ten list of favorite episodes that I recommend anyone watch:

1.) Final Sacrifice (best movie/episode ever)
2.) Manos: Hands of Fate (probably the worst movie ever filmed in an actual theatre)
3.) Pumaman (70's era Italian silliness)
4.) Laserblast (sadly, no shirt buttoning attatchment)
5.) Space Mutiny (if Star Wars had been filmed in an abandoned warehouse)
6.) Hobgoblins (It's the 80's...)
7.) Pod People (actual pods sold seperately)
8.) Warewolf (wahr-wilf?)
9.) Soul Taker (written by a 17-year-old)
10.) Mitchell (70's era American sleazyness)

As for people riffing on modern stuff, you're in luck. It's called Rifftrax, and it features Mike Nelson, the same guy who hosted MST3k for four years.

http://www.rifftrax.com/

Just download the Trax and sync it to your dvd. They even have a free program that allows you to do it yourself called Sharecrow. For some trax, Keven Murphy (Tom Servo) and Bill Cordett (Crow) join in on the riffing, so it sounds just like the good old days. Some of the more modern stuff includes the Casino Royale, Grey's Anatomy, and Lost.

Thanx Grimm. I'll check them out when i have the time. I've seen Hobgoblins and Manos, both were funny but Manos would be brutal to watch without the MSTeam. The fueling jet parts in "Starfighters" are by far the funniest moments i have ever seen so far.

Actually, I haven't been on in a long ass time 'cause my internets got cut off and my mom isn't bothering to pay for it (son of a bitch!). So I have to wait 'til I start gettin' my monthly $600 check next month to pay for my own internet.

I use my sister's laptop, only problem is I have to go outside in the cold to get decent wi-fi.

I'm goin' crazy.
