Tebor and Rycona, thanks!!!
I got an email from Hamza at Destructoid with just the URL for the review and a smiley face. When I saw it my jaw was on the floor. Even more remarkable are all the positive comments on the review from readers. Too cool.
We had the premiere last night, and it was phenomenal. Here's a pic of the theater from earlier that evening -- the poster is on display on the left.
A mess of people came, and our local Channel 3 News covered the event for the 10:00 News (see the cameraman below on the left). I didn't see the story, though, since a slew of us went to Steak N Shake afterward.
Seeing Press Start on the huge screen was an incredible experience. I've never seen anything I've made quite so large before. Unbelievable. I'm still riding the high.

After decidedly longer than 4-7 days...
IT ARRIVED!!!
All the best things come in bubble-wrap packages.
Here it is on my kitchen table.
Here it is after I took of its clothes.
Ah that new DVD smell.
So close I can almost taste it.
100 minutes approximate runtime? More like 100 mnutes approximate FUNtime, amirite?

Yeah, but with the conversion rate it's more like 8-10 days Canadian.
Glad it arrived!! Also, your mailbox looks almost identical to mine...

What's that in your hand? A blanket? Covering up something, hm? I know I do whenever I watch the movie. I've watched it 7 times already; I still haven't watched any of the commentary though. I'm mostly exciting about watching the one with the composer because he did a fantastic job and I love video game music.

I was just so exciting I white-knuckled whatever was handy for the whole showing. I've watched the movie, and the filmmaker commentary. Two more commentaries to go!
Also, I feel bad for Al. Better eye acting than Kristen Kreuk, and not a single line.

Rycona, 7 times?? Whoa! That's intense.
Valdronius, if it's any consolation you can see and hear Al in the making-of featurette. I think he has longer hair than Kristen Kreuk, too.

Hey Val, is it just me or does the envelope in the first picture look larger than the inside of your mailbox?

I have a job now. I'll be able to buy the movie once I get my first paycheck.

My copy came today.
If the movie had an official rating, what would be it? I want to get my brother to put it on that comic store where he works, but the management won't let them put on anything that's rated higher than PG-13. As a result, they're usually screening shitty PG-13 movies like X3, Daredevil, Elektra, and Ultraviolet.
Press Start would be a most welcome change.

Hey awesome!
He'd be totally fine playing it at the comic store; my goal was to keep everything in the PG to PG-13 range. What little strong language there is doesn't get beyond what you'd hear on network TV, and there's virtually no blood & gore. I wanted to keep it pretty family-friendly.
Except for that one gratuitous explicit sex scene.
Oh wait, no, I cut that.

I'm pretty sure (spoiler) ripping someone's heart out would bump it up to PG-13.

Holy crap, Press Start got reviewed in the February issue of PC Gamer!!
The section is called "The good, the bad, and the ugly of recent game-inspired DVD releases". The bad? Doom. The ugly? Bloodrayne 2. The good? FUCKING PRESS START, BITCHES!

That's arguably the greatest thing ever. Let us know if you get any contact or additional press from this.

RIGHT ON!!!
Glad that justice is served.
I think Press Start is easily better than 95% of all other video game movies, so I'm glad to see a sample of someone else agreeing... and with pictures and glossy magazine pictures.
BTW, the D- for Bloodrayne II is too generous!

I know it's not that big a deal for other folks, but today marks the one year anniversary of Press Start on DVD!
