They're either straight up ugly, or look like homeless people.

I liked Marathon but I didn't have a Mac, but Doom and Duke Nukem 3D are still on my favorites list.

I'm on a total Duke Nukem 3D kick right now. I always manage to get back into games about ten or so years after they're popular. I'm hoping to make my own game someday inspired by the very first FPSs where there wasn't so much of a story or any objectives, just blowing stuff up and running through random locales. Not as a super-serious goal, of course, just a fun side project.

I've never played Doom or Wolfenstein 3D though! I really need to sometime. Maybe write an editorial about my experience.

UPDATE: Also, yes, Morrowind was horrendous. I was talking to someone who's a die-hard Elder Scrolls fan and he got onto me one time because I was talking about not liking the whole free-roaming mechanic. He said I "just liked having stuff fed to me" in this little sarcastic tone. Well, when the alternative is wandering around an ugly landscape with nothing to do but pick flowers or practice my jumping, yeah, I'd really appreciate the game telling me what to do. I don't like games that are incredibly one-dimensional linear, but I DO appreciate being led in the right direction when I'm lost.

I personally have no really caring for the compaign mode... It's the multiplayer mode in halo that interests me.

And they did a very nice job with it in halo 1 and 2, and i haven't played much of 3....

I did miss the handgun from halo 1... but i replaced it with the battle rifle in halo 2, so i'm content...

Dual wielding is alright, i like it in some ways don't in others.. I do like the new options for what you can do with vehicles added in halo 2.

As for halo 3, i have no problem with their additions so far, they seem useful and fun.. I did wish they added a few things, that say some of the half-life games had.. like a gun that could shoot through a wall would be sweet (that charge up laser gun they had)... and i think explosives that you can throw and detonate with a trigger wouldn't be bad in the game. Also I did like the little creatures in half-life the ones that someone through and it'd attack the nearest target, potentially even the thrower of the creatures.

Also I think it'd of been sweet if they stole the hologram idea from duke-nukem... that could have some useful applications.

anyway it looked sweet graphically, and those i've asked (namely passed halo fans) have saiid they enjoyed it, so i like it, and I think overall i liked the gameplay in multiplayer of halo 2 over halo 1, and 3 looks like it will be better than halo 2...

Also one thign i wished they did was to keep past levels, i see no reaon to get rid of old levels just gives people more options. Or if you want to milk cash, at least give people the option to purchase the old maps.

I think user-created maps, since everythign seems to be gravitating toward online play, could be a possiblity, if they could make a user friendly map-maker program for the 3d maps in halo. then people who both have the same map on their x-box 360 could play on that map if they wanted.

anyway, I think halo 3 looks fun in mulitplayer how it is, i think they could of added a few more things, but overall i'm excited to start playing it, when more people i know get it, and have spare controllers.

Bungie, the developer of the hugely popular Halo series, is to part company with owner Microsoft.
In a statement, the two firms said they would "forge a new long-term partnership" based around new games.

The move will surprise many in the games industry, despite rumours about a split in recent weeks.

Bungie is now a privately held company in which Microsoft holds a minority stake. Recent release Halo 3 made $300m (£150m) in its first week on sale.

I guess it finally happened. Full story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7030513.stm and here http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163429
