From Filmdrunk.com:
Cinema Blend is running a very suspect sounding story about Chloe Sevigny and Rachel Weisz competing for the female lead in Terminator 4. I'll spare you the details because it's highly speculative and I can't see either of those chicks doing a Terminator movie.
The rub is that they're going through with a fourth Terminator. Without Arnold, without Jim Cameron. But hey, Eddie Furlong is still rumored to be attached to the project, so I'm sure it will be really good.
When will Hollywood learn? You can't put the reanimated corpse of Marilyn Monroe in a slutty dress and expect her to run around the party singing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President." She might give a decent handjob, but the magic will be gone. What was I talking about again? Oh yeah, a zombie Marilyn Monroe porno, someone should definitely make that.

Yeah, Terminator 4 is a terrible idea. We didn't need an Alien 4 either. Or a Die Hard 4.
Well, we maybe we did, but they should have been infinitely better than the movies we got. Oh well, at least Rambo 4 will be decent.

Thousands of years ago, all of the terminator movies will be deleted from history when an actual movie replica Skynet inspired by the one in Terminator 5 will be so realistic that it will actually do all of the bullshit the actual skynet would do.
A vintage mint-condition excessively realistic terminator robot will come back in time and kill all people associated with the project in a massecre that will inspire writers to create a movie about a robot from the future that is sent back in time to stop the creation of skynet, thus ensuring skynet's creation.
A newer, better and less naked robot will be sent, who will become leader of the guild of directors, to prevent this movie from occuring. His career will be an abject failure and he will have to steal oil from the homeless.
Meanwhile, the future in the absense of Skynet will have no defense against that computer that Ferris Bueller defeated, and humanity will die in a rain of nuclear hellfire and tic-tac-toe.
And that is where babies come from...for machines.

I've already reported that Hollywood plans to make yet another Arnold-less Terminator. Now guess who've they've got in mind to direct it? That's right, Brett Ratner's even shittier brother, McG.
Plot:
"Terminator 4 takes place after the apocalypse that John and Kate failed to prevent. John should be gathering the remaining humans to fight off the army of Skynet robots in a huge battle. "
If the future is a time when guys who make Charlie's Angels movies get to have one name, and McG gets to direct Terminator movies, I don't want the humans to win. Bring on the apocalypse.

McG's not all bad... I like Chuck thus far. Then again, he's just the producer of that.

"I'll be Bock!"
No you won't Arnie . . . man . . . why must the 2000s continue to rape the 1980s

More bad news:
Variety is reporting that WB has acquired the rights to the Terminator franchise, and that the next Terminator movie will be called Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, slated for summer 2008 release.
I say "the next Terminator" because WB is planning this as a trilogy. That's right, three movies.
A screenplay has been completed by "Terminator 3" scribes John Brancato and Michael Ferris, and the financiers and studio are close to locking a director. While industry buzz has "Charlie's Angels" director McG as the odds-on favorite for the assignment, the producers said no final decision had yet been made.
Holy crap, no word on the earlier rumor about Vin Diesel playing the lead, but the McG angle being serious enough to make it into Variety is seriously distressing. Hey, why not make it a Brett Ratner/McG collaboration? And then afterwards you can drive to my house, F my mom, strangle my puppy, and Photoshop John Travolta's face onto all my porno.
The terrorists have already won. Game over, man. Game over.

WB making a Terminator movie? If you told someone that 10 years ago they would probably kick your ass but now . . . nah, they still probably kick your ass. Terminator has always been under Fox in some way. I hate this decade. Very few original movies have come out so far for the last 4 years. It's all sequels and regurgitated 1980s lure. Yes, those franchises back in the 1980s were kickass but that was because they were original and awesome. And resurrecting something after 20 years is okay but don't let it be the norm of the media. If Hollywood has run out of ideas all it has to do is say so. I'm not downing all movies this decade has to offer, the first few years had some good ones but for the last 3 years there has been more remakes of 1980s franchises then in the past 10 years.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing . . . well it all depends on how long it takes before it starts gets old. And i think the threshold has been past by now.

don't even start me on Alien vs Predator. I literally bitched about that movie for months afterwards to anyone that would listen.
How can you make an Alien movie without little Alien's busting out of people's stomachs, and a Predator movie without any skinning? It totally offends me as someone who is a massive fan of the other movies.

The movie lacked any meaningful violence, as it was designed to get a rating for teens instead of a mature rating.
I still get mad when I ever think about it too.

So why isn't Terminator 4 "Robocop vs. Terminator"?

I believe the series won't die because it cannot self-terminate.
Did someone already make this joke?
