I take issue with "Skywarp sucks", because he was awesome.

Although Transformers wasn't as good after the movie there were some things that were improved. Most notably Grimlock became a more prominent character. Some of my favorite episodes were actually from the 2nd half of the series because of this, like "Grimlock's new brain."

I always liked Thundercracker, probably because he was the only one of the three classic Decepticon jets that I ever owned.
And Ultra Magnus ruled. If he had become the leader of the Autobots instead of Hot Rod, I think things would have went better.

Ultra Magnus did become the leader of the autobots. And he was awful. He did a lot of running away and getting himself blown up. Not to mention his toy was awful.
He did seem to have so much potential though. He looked cool. Was voiced by Robert Stack. It's a shame really.

Yes, but Magnus never truly had the Matrix of Leadership. Because Hot Rod was the first one to hold it after Prime's death, Hot Rod became the Chosen One and thus Magnus's body was never able to properly assimilate the Matrix.

But maybe the Matrix chose Hotrod for some god awful reason. But Magnus was still awful.
What sticks out in my mind most is when the were fleeing the Decpeticons is space and Hotrod, Kup and the Dinobots were shot down and Magnus was just like "I can't be concerned with now."
Also isn't it weird that Magnus never transforms in the movie?

I thought Ultra Magnus' toy was great. You could fit a lot of other transformers in his trailer, and he transformed into a giant robot. It seemed really neat how you placed his body inside his trailer to transform. Very cool.
And Syd is right, Hot Rod touched the matrix first. It fell from Optimus' hand as he tried to get it to Magnus, and Hot Rod picked it up.
Also, in terms of Magnus leaving Hot Rod, Kup, and Grimlock to fend for themselves, he was in the middle of a battle and under fire, he had to make sure his ship was safe before he could risk saving them.
A better question is - Why are we debating this?

Magnus was cool as a truck, but his robot form was bad. He was just an all white Optimus in a shell that couldn't move.
What's funny is I love the Ram Man toy, and he suffers from the same lack of movement as Magnus. I guess if Magnus had a little lever on his heel that made him jump up I'd like him more.

Since seeing this video, "it was an accident!" has become a staple in-joke between my brother and I.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on Wheelie, too.
