I think I'd rather go play in rain, today. I've been checking our stock against our distributor, and tons of shit is missing. This is such a basic job: sell a dvd/manga/toy/etc, add it to the order list. You don't even have to put a serial number or anything, you just put like:
Basilisk #3 (1)
And even that doesn't get done right...yesterday it took me like 4 hrs to go through the manga list, and dvds today seems to be taking about as long. But, at least once it's done, I won't need to do it again for awhile. Then I can focus on only having cheez-its here to eat.

Oh so you're not working all 12 hours? I spent this whole summer working graveyard at a retirement home. I got 7 hours to do an hour and a half of work, then I spent the rest of my shift sitting around doing nothing, cuz nothing happens in retirement homes, but you want it to be that way, cuz if somethings does happen, it usually involves paramedics. SO you actually hope that you'll have nothing to do

I just finished my 8 hour shift and am leaving to get to my bi-weekly poker game at a friend's place in Irving Park. So, so long suckers!

10-10 is the shift, but I keep stopping what I'm doing to talk to customers about wrestling and shit. At least it's killing time.

regardless of what it is you are doing... 12 hour shifts suck my ass.
Was it mandatory OT or is that your regular schedule? Or you just doing it for the xtra cash?

One of the girls here got a job that she'd been waiting on for awhile, so she started yesterday, and I picked up both of her morning shifts. I'm kind of used to 10-10 and I feel weird going home before then, or coming in later. I just hate days where I don't remember enough drinks and food, as my only delivery choices are Papa John's and a shitty mexican joint. Today seems to be decent, though.

Worst I've done was 12 - 11:30, with an hour long lunch break. That was fun.

I did a 60-hour shift with a coworker before when we needed to redo the entire inventory, but we at least got to sleep and had an xbox hooked to the tv for breaks.

Longest shift I ever worked was 15 hours, 7 AM - 10 PM. I was only supposed to work til 3, but there were two sick calls for the night shift, so they asked me to stay. It was a Sunday, so it was time and a half, so I said sure, what the hell.
The worst part was that I had to be back in there at 7 the next morning.

My worst "shift" was working 9pm-7am Sunday night at my real job, then walking home, brushing my teeth, and hopping in the 8am carpool to go teach from 9 to 4 or so.

Man, someone's getting shitcanned. My dvd order list is usually 10 lines or so of stuff we've sold, on a standard MS Word document. There are now 39 lines of shit we're missing, so whoever worked while I was gone has been totally stroking it, wtf.

My record is a 16 hour double shift. When I was a gas attendant* at Shell, I worked day shift and the swing girl called in sick, and nobody else answered thier phones, so I had to pull a double.
(*For those of you who are unaware, in Oregon, it is illegal to pump your own gas. So, all gas stations are Full Service, where an attendant pumps your gas for you. Its a really shitty job, and is on par with flipping burgers at Micky D's.)
At my current job, the max you are allowed to work is 13 hours. And, in the two years I have been here, I have done about 7 13 hour shifts. But, it's a desk job so its not too bad.

I had a semi-retarded guy try to preorder the next Night Shift Nurses... I was like, "wait. You want to preorder scat hentai?" and these people looked over, so the guy got all embarassed and shuffled out.
But he'll be back. Every friday at about 7:30, like clockwork.

You know, it got requested, so I bought it in, and one box sold and the other is still sitting there.

The actual longest 'shift' i pulled was Friday 11:30pm-Saturday 6:30am at the retirement home, heading to the race track, trying to sleep on cement for a bit, working from 8ish til 2pm when they sent me home, sleeping until ten, heading to work at the retirement home Saturday 11:30pm-Sunday 6:30am, then heading to the track, trying to sleep, and working 8ish-5, then going home and trying to get sleep before school the next morning. I worked 36 hours in a 48 hour period, and I never plan on doing it again.

So now it turns out that the girl may not be leaving, because the other job was not what she expected or something. But I guess she had to actually go there to find that out, so I still would've had to work anywho. Oh well, extra scratch for bjorky.

I work at a 24 hour answering service, I've pulled insane swing shifts, I'm gonna drop my lease and live in the break room.
