I'm waiting patiently for the new line-up, but a friend sent me this link which seems credible...
http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/steve-jobs-live-apples-the-beat-goes-on-special-event/
But, since this is the current status of the Apple Store...
I guess we'll all have to wait and see... And I know some people are going to say "oh look at Tish advertising shit for Apple, bla bla bla". But, Apple and iPods are just as big a part of pop culture as gaming, TV, or movies. Plus, lots of forum members - probably 50% of us - are iPod owners. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has interest in new products being released on the market - whether it be a new Xbox, Doug boxed set, or even iPods.

I didn;t read the whole thing, but the Ring Tone idea seems pretty cool, although I don't own a cell-phone, let alone an iPhone. The iPod fatty looks pretty cool. Was that picture of it showing visulisations or the breakout game? 'Cause if it has visulisations that would kick ass.

my 30gb ipod and 30gb zune are fine for my music needs. I won't spend 400 dollars on a phone with wifi just because it's a fad. maybe when pricing is more reasonable.

My 60GB works fine for playing stuff at work or whatever, but I hardly ever use an ipod with headphones.
Also: there are Doug dvd boxsets?

What's the best Mp3 player for going running with? I need something durable, light weight, and of considerable storage capacity. Running without music sucks.

How much storage is "considerable"? The iPod shuffle is built for sports and activities, but they only hold about 150 songs. The new iPod nanos are pretty small and they'll be holding up to 40 gigs I believe.

well, speaking of fads, I might want to unload mine to get the limited edition halo one. it's pretty much brand new and I only bought it because I thought my ipod was completely destroyed.

What's the advantage of a Zune? I've heard people say good stuff about those.

I like my zune a lot, the only complaint is battery life if you watch movies and stuff on it. Looks like there cheaper now too.
At least that middle iPod is priced ok, 80gb for 250 isn't terrible. Hopefully thats what all the school kids end up getting for sexmas, vs the 8gb touch me one.

Do Zunes come in different sizes? Would there be one suitable for jogging?

Right now there's just one type, aside from colors. Theres suppose to be a flash and a redesigned Zune coming at the end of the year. Jogging, I'm not sure. They use hard drives. However, I use one when I'm at work the whle time I'm there, and I'm constantly moving around and stuff. Not as bouncy as jogging, but I'm not sure.

Man, I feel like I live in the dark ages or something. I still had a Discman until late last year, when I finally caved in and bought a 1 GB Sandisk mp3 doohickey super cheap.
That being said, I mostly listen to music on my computer, and my mp3 player is generally used for RiffTrax.

Back in middle school we had one of those Apple IIe's sitting in a corner, unused for ages. I got the thing up and running and programmed games on it during home room. One of my favorites was an all-ASCII fighting game. You could punch, kick, throw asterisks (er... fireballs), and even do a pit fatality a la Mortal Kombat. It was pretty silly. And you couldn't jump.

Iremember "computer class" in my shitty elementary school, which consisted of each student sitting at an apple two and playing Oregon Trail, or that robot math game, it sure beat the hell out of social studies.

Being a huge Commodore gamer at home, I had quite a few games that had the C64 version one side of the disk and the Apple IIe version on the other side. A lot of the time in elementary school, if it was raining we could go to the computer lab for recess. They would give you your choice of game (Oregon Trail, Reader Rabbit, etc.) And, then the teacher pretty much sat in the corner and read her book, and didn't pay any attention. So, I would smuggle in other games (Such as Spy vs Spy, Top Gun, etc.) and amaze everyone with the fact that I was playing REAL games, instead of the ed-u-tainment ones they were stuck with.

I want a Zune because I can watch videos, and it's Windows-based, so I can hack it. I wanted a Halo 3 one, but Jew, if you're willing to unload your old one for relatively cheap (since I don't have a job yet), I'd buy it.
