Whatever.

A movie is only good if it can sit in my DVD collection, and this movie can never sit in my DVD collection. You can own a movie without owning its sequel, but you can't own a sequel without the original. The original AVP was so incredibly shitty that I would buy 20 Albert Pyun movies before I would ever own it, so even if AVP2 manages to be as good as the trailer looks, it is still a complete waste of time because it's a sequel to a pile of shit.

I really wasn't impressed by that trailer. And while that doesn't mean I won't like the movie, it just felt like a low budget horror movie with Aliens and Predators in the Jason/Michael/Freddy/whatever role. It doesn't feel like there's any scope.

And for the record, I'm also one of like three people who actually liked the first movie, so take that as you will.

How many hordes of people own Evil Dead 2 and/or Army of Darkness, but don't own the original Evil Dead? And, technically if you own Preditor 1 & 2, or Alien(s),3,Resurection then you already have the earlier films. Wink

It's a shitty ET rip-off that has McDonald's product placement in lieu of Reese's Pieces that I saw once when I was a kid. I bought it used so that I could review it for the site, which I have yet to do.

Don't think of it as a sequel Syd, think of it like the comics. There are a shitload of various AVP comics with various storylines and varied levels of coolness or shittiness. Just think of the first one as a really shitty story arc. This one looks like it may not even be related to the first one at all ( especially since it's named AVP: Requiem and not AVP2: Requiem) and it looks pretty cool to me.

I'm the second fan of teh original. It may have not been as good as the first two Alien or predator movies, but it was better then the steaming pile of monkey shit called Alien:Resurrection (Id rather watch 20 DOLPH LUNDGREN movies then see the fucking piece of fucking crap again) and that counts for something.
Also, Requiem looks all kinds of awesome, and it does look pretty fucking gory.

I'd rather just see a Predator movie. I never really liked the Aliens.

Bite me! Evil I'll watch 1,000 Dolph Lundgren movies before I watch a hailed movie like "The Prestige"!*

*As Dolph has yet to make a 1,000 movies, I guess I'll have to see "The Prestige" before he does... Crying

Edit: This is one weird post. I was trying to say I just want to see a 1000 Lundgren movies in general.

that's an awful way to look at a movie.

on the other hand, in my circle of friends, nobody is allowed to say the name of "that movie" without being punched. I often buy my pal jake a copy of this movie to piss him off, because he keeps destroying it (I place it in random spots of his house without telling him, and he discovers them and yells at me.)

Don't you love that? Laughing

I have no idea why it's so amusing.
