Before I clicked the link and read the article, I just read the little quote you posted, and I thought the link you posted was going to be about a true story, which would have been even better. Still sounds like a sweet movie though, I'll probably end up seeing it I'm sure. I guess the fact that it's on the movie board should have been a hint that it was a movie though...

That will be some interesting movie. I really don't understand why Black will take any movie he came though. King Kong, School of Rock, Nacho Libre (QuestionExclamation), and now this?

In any case, IF it's done well it may become a comedy classic.

Could be a good'n. Jack Black wanes from over the top funny to over the top annoying, but overall I like him.

Also, I've seen "Please be kind, rewind" stickers on DVD boxes X_X

Wow? I guess video store people are stupider and/or lazier than I thought.

Or maybe, it's just "subliminal" advertising! Shocked

Or it could just be an automated process when they receive new stock. Confused

I don't think so, but this thread is over a year old now. Maybe back in the dark ages of 2006 people did. Luckily now in the Lite Ages of '07 we rent movies from red vending machines.

But I am glad to see the movie is FINALLY coming out. Smile

They still had VHS in Clerks 2 as well.

I think part of the plot is that their store is struggling due to the waning popularity of VHS, thus making the loss of their tapes all the more crippling.

Rush Hour 2, from 2001, is the most recent film featured in the movie, so it's possible that it takes place in 2001, when VHS was still fairly popular. That, or it takes place in Jersey, where people aren't so much people as they are living trash and no one can afford a DVD player.

Whoa, i was just slamming on my keyboard and I opened some crazy HTML file for this page. I hope I didn't access some Government files or anything. If I don't post tomorrow, tell my Mom I love her...

But back to the movie. I think it looks pretty good. Jack Black's role doesn't seem like it would be annoying or anything, and from the preview it looked like he played it well.

Pretty funny especially when they're scrambling to re shoot Ghostbusters, I'd advise renting it unless you don't care for Jack Black.
Edit WHOOPS shoulda searched first. Embarrassed

The movie blew. Has to be one of Black's worst movies. Boring, unfunny, and too long.

Aye. Movie blowed. But Jack Black was in it so... not much expected. It was hard to watch it all.

I didn't think much of it and don't want to see it again. The only thing I was interested in was the movie remakes... the rest of the story I didn't give a shit about... and I'm getting sick of Jack Black as an actor, but that could be type-casting. Tropic Thunder, anyone?

People are "sweding" movies on YouTube now. Awesome. Someone shoot me, please. (No, don't, but still)

I couldn't understand half the things Mos Def was saying, he kept mumbling.
