I used to read Gamepro and Game Informer years ago, but it's been years since I've even glanced at any of these.

I've been wanting to get something again though, so which should I go with? I hear a lot of people like IGN.

I like both. I've found that GamePro is more for news on everything, whereas Game Informer is more in-depth, but covers a narrower scope.

I get Game Informer, but that's just because I have a GameStop card and it comes with a year subscription to it. It's pretty good, but I tend to disagree with a lot of their reviews and I seem to find they are biased against the Wii, but maybe that's just me.

Yea I guess I would say that I'm more interested in overall news in the industry rather than in-depth reviews of games and whatnot.

dude, GMR was the best fucking magazine to ever exist. sadly, the company that created them decided either GMR or EGM had to go (i think...). so GMR was cancelled right after i renewed my subscription. instead of giving me my money back they decided i could get the new magazine which was called Sync. it wasnt even a game magazine! all they did was review the "latest gadgets" and occasionally the new madden game. the covers were terrible too. each one had some half naked chick on em covered in cellphones or some shit. they only had two good articles too. one was a monthly thing where they looked at shit people made, and the other one was something where they looked at everything on used computers. anyways, i also read EGM. i fucking hated it. they were so biased, it seemed like all they liked was sony and microsoft and nintendo was just kid stuff. then i read Gami Informer because i got a GameStop card. that one was okay, but im not renewing.

There are no good gaming magazines anymore.

Just hit IGN.com,Gamespot.com, and Destructod.com, and save the subscription money for buying games.

I like reading Retro Gamer, but I'm not even sure if that's in print anymore.

On the other hand, I downright hate Game Informer, but that may be because I have to try selling the subscriptions. I rarely read magazines anymore. Hell, the only reason I even look at EGM nowadays is to do the crossword puzzles.
