So, here's the deal.
We do this like a debate team.
I need two people who want to debat, argue, whatever.
I pick a topic at random. One person is for, and the other is against.
And, then have at it!
Maybe if we find a controlled creative enviroment for such things, they won't spill out to every other topic!

Okay, great we have two volunteers!
Okay, MOGHARR vs Char:
Pangea, would we be better off if it stayed together?
MOGHARR, being the expert on plate tectonics will be against, and Char will be for it.
BEGIN!

I'd like to open my argument with the fact that if Pangea had stayed together, it would've been way easier to wage wars with people. Also, with determination, you could road-trip to anywhere.

Let's do this.
I wouldn't mind debating something.

and just like wrestling... im gonna run into this argument out of nowhere... if pangaea or however its spelled had stayed together... it wouldve been easier to have brotherhood... and a socialist society... no... im not regalsin... but imagine it... it would be like those small villages you see in movies... where everyone knows each other... and shares stuff... but on a bigger scale... except everyone would not know each other... but everyone would share in the labor and fruits of labor... or something...
it would be corusant... or however you spell that...
damn im too drunk to be posting

It's noon where you are. Why are you already drunk?
Also, socialism can never work because it removes the motivation for people to work hard when you're compensated the same way whether you do a bad or good job. People are inherently lazy.

drunk from last night son... and woke up drinking still... damn... i gotta sober up... thank you god for water...
anyhow... i agree... if there is no incentive... then no reward... people are not inherently lazy... just inherently greedy/selfish... it sucks to admit... but its true...

I think socialism can probably work, but I'm against it nonetheless.
My problem with socialism is that it's essentially mandatory government-controlled charity on a national level. I don't like this for a number of reasons.
First, the government should have no hand in charity; charity should be left to individuals, NPOs, and religion
Secondly, charity should be a personal choice. For the government to forcibly seize our money via taxes and use it towards social programs takes away that choice.
Third, we get no say in what programs our money is being towards. When I give money to charity, I give to charities that buy kids schoolbooks and lunches, as well as Red Cross and United Way. When the government starts in with the socialist bullshit, for all I know my money is being used to give some whorebag a free abortion or send some worthless crackhead to rehab.

No, what Syd is describing can be communism, but it is also prevalent in the socially democratic welfare states of Europe.

Okay, I'm gonna ignore everyone else since this is between me and Char...
If it was so easy to wage war, why would you go on a road trip, hmmm? Everyone would attack you.

War creates arms races, so technically the missles would probably be even more advanced.

The primary difference is that in communism, private ownership is nearly non-existent. In communism, the government directly owns all the land and the raw resources found therein as well as all industrial facilities. Thus, free enterprise does not exist in communism nor do family-owned homes. You live in a government-owned house and work in a government-controlled factory. But first you go to a government-controlled school where they teach you to love it.
In socialism, there is a greater degree of personal freedom and ownership, but the government still controls some major aspects of society. For instance, some European nations have government-run universities instead of private ones. They offer a free college education to all their citizens, but they also require a mandatory period of military service.

How could you have Inter-Continental Balistic Missiles if there's only one continent?
