I was watching some of The Fifth Element on TV earlier. I love the movie, but there's one scene that's always bugged me. It's when the military guys come to Bruce Willis' house and he makes them hide in the refridgerator for no good reason and they freeze to death. I know it's supposed to be funny, but I find it depressing. I hate it when movies trivialize deaths, especially the deaths of lawful or neutral characters.
What are some movie scenes that piss you guys off?

Any scene with Prissy in "Gone With the Wind" except when she gets bitch slapped by Scarlett.
The scene in Batman Returns where Batman "blows up" a fat clown with his own bomb... although, it is debatable whether or not it's a real bomb.

I was pissed off by Back to the Future III due to its huge plothole.
Doc Brown from 1985 goes back to 1885 and is shot and killed by Buford Tannen. The Doc Brown from 1955 saw the tombstone from his grave, and obviously therefore knew that he would be killed in 1885 (I believe it was even stated on the tombstone exactly what brought about his death). Therefore, Marty should not have had to travel back in time to 1885 to warn "future" Doc Brown about this as he obviously would've been aware of what was going to happen and thus could've taken the necessary precautions to avoid being killed on his own.

But, the time ripples wouldn't effect it, because time ripples can't affect future versions. Such as when Marty of the past saw Biff's gang under sandbags, he didn't remember seeing them in the present/future incarnation or else he would've realized it instead of winging it.
Doc in the first only knew, because the Doc from 1955 was unaltered until he hit 1985 ala the Twin Pines/Lone Pine effect. Twin Pines Doc died, while the Lone Pines version is from 1955 unaltered.
Look, you can debate until the cows come home about time travel. Just go with the flow AND NEVER TOUCH YOURSELF!!! OR ELSE RISK TURNING INTO A BIG BLOB!

Let's not forget that Doc is pretty old by 1985 as well. In fact, he goes to the future for a while before going back to 1885 and says something about how old he is thanks to future medical science (Like 130 or something ridiculous). Needless to say after well over 50 years it would be easy to forget someone you saw on a headstone. (Did he even know it was his in 1955? It's been a while since I watched the movies so it's all a little fuzzy)

Yeah he knew it was his. My reasoning was that it'd be pretty difficult to forget when/where/how you were going to die after you find out. Then again, I could see someone like Doc Brown forgetting something like that when he's busy doing stuff like inventing a time machine out of a DeLorean.

Well in Jurasic Park Three there is this scene where the adopted girl of the scientist( that barely did anything in the original movie) decides to sae the day doing gymnastics on a couple of well placed poles just to kick a small dino into a window. rendering it lifeless.
I mean What the Nun was that? I little girl ( who by my refrence was not that attractive to begin with ) use her great gymnastics on well placed poles just to kick a dinosaur that yes might have attack them but come on.
In real life no girl is going to hit any animal like that. The dino should have been attacked them and the little girl should have bounced back or something else.
Come on I did not just went to the movies just to see gymnastics orphan girl save whats his face ugly father actor from a poor dinosaur with the power of steotypical femine sports.
I went to the movies to see Dinosaur swamp down people like fruit roll ups high on Slurm, watch them save the day with electric guns, and maybe escape with some only left helicopter where man was the real enemy.
The gymnastics part was the most unrealistic part of the movie.

Lastly Godzilla 2000 and The New King Kong was too small and just made American enginewity look better then it really is. Godzilla is not smaller then the Golden Gate Bridge or any Bridge his head reaches bigger then Mt. Fuji. King Kong is like 1/3 or 1/4 of the empire state building.

Nevertheless, I think Jurassic Park III was superior to Lost World.

Most of the scenes in Silent Hill pissed me off, but none more so than a scene where someone bursts into flames and says "look how I burn" or to that effect. I was rolling on the floor with laughter... literally, it was embarassing the guy I was with. I couldn't stop laughing for five minutes before I just said:
"WHAT THE FUCK!?"
Then about a minute into the end credits when I could talk again I shouted:
"SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?"

I hated the entire end of "Collateral". I mean JESUS ! Professional killer gets owned by a black cabbie. What a shitty way to treat audience. It just had to be: It's ok to waste the asian guy, the barkeeper etc. but not the nice black Lawyer lady. I left the theater the moment I realised : thats all folks. Tommys character is killed by cab driver ? WTF ?!

I can't agree more on that !! By chance i watched AVP just after it !!! The Predators made me forget that crappy end, but i realised that AVP:the movie is good as a "lite action movie" but it is real crap compare to the AVP games AND Predator 1 & 2 AND Aliens Quadrilogy.. Who is the morron who write the scenario (who's missing btw)...

Talking about AVP. I roared in the movietheatre with wild, insane laughter when the scene where Predator and the token nice survivor human run in the ice, big BOOM goes off in the background. OMFG that scene was something nightmarish Baywatch style running with skinny chick and predator ? Who the hell tought thats cool ? Killing machine predator turns to wuss cuz of a human female. And am I alone in this world thinking that the whole end of the movie was somewhat perverted. I was 100% that the chick would start to make out with the Predator as it removed his/hers mask. Goddamn.

I disagree. I thought the slow-mo running shot with the explosion in the background was pure genius. They used the ultimate Buddy Movie shot... for a human and a Predator. It was a cinematic in-joke that nailed the movie's tone.

Speaking of AVP, the part where the predator eviscerates the alien for weapons (tail-spear) and armor (skull-shield) is total bullshit.

AVP is out of character with both Alien AND Predator. Put in the lame human touch and you ruined basic materials of kick-ass movie. They ALMOST pulled the same shit with Freddy VS Jason. I was pleased that Jason wasn't converted into some lameass who saves the girl in end, as they did with predator.

The first Tomb Raider began an inside joke between myself and my buddy Soulios where we'd find a way to incorporate unneccesary self-destruct sequences in our everyday lives. When that machine blows up at the end...WHY??? Such an awful fucking movie.

"Freddy vs. Jason" was so far from being out of character, it is an insult to jokingly say "almost". Especially when being compared to "Alien vs. Predator".

I kinda enjoyed the second one. It's way better than the first and the Phantom of the Opera kicks ass... Why does he make such awful movies? I really like the guy... not so much to remember his name... wait, isn't his name "that guy from Timeline"?

Sorry for reviving a long dead topic, but I was going through the archives, and 5th element is one of my favorite movies. (Basically anything with Gary Oldman is awesome. I want a movie with him, Christopher Walken, and Michael Ironsides all playing badguys together. Frickin' sweet.)
I just wanted to point out, that the General and his companion DON'T DIE, because later his is in the president's office with the president listening to the radio on what goes down on the hotel ship.

As for the whole AVP discussion that took place in this thread, I thought the part where the Predator makes the spear and shit out of the dead alien was terrible as well, but apparently that whole part with the girl was directly from the comics.
