Did anyone ever play this game? It had shit graphics it was hard as hell to do their finishers and I still to this day dont know how to throw them over the rope in royal rumble. However I still spent countless hours either a. getting people into dark red on their health bar or b. Go to weapons match and smath tvs over their heads for aobut 2 hours.

Why play a non-THQ wrestling game for N64?

I remember one time I beat on Owen Hart so bad that his health bar turned black, and he just wouldn't get up anymore. Then he died in real life soon afterwards.

I never had that game. A friend of mine did though, and it was kind of fun.

I played this game a hell of a lot. I didn't own it, but my friends did. Besides GoldenEye and Mario Kart it was the game we all played after school.

I own it, but I'm not too crazy about it. The Mortal Kombat-style button commands for moves don't translate to wrestling games very well in my opinion.

I agree with JJS.

The gameplay system was broken. There was no build-up to the moves or sense of tempo. If you wanted to powerbomb someone right off the bat, you could.

The THQ system was cool because it had a healthy appreciation for the technical aspects of professional wrestling.

I had WCW Mayhem, or something. It was pretty cool.

Very valid point.

Though, I think the big difference in why, is due to Acclaim making the titles here in america (even worse at Acclaim Studios Salt Lake), vs THQ having AKI make them in Japan, and base them off of the Japanese line of games. (Virtual Pro Wrestling)

I think the average american (read: Not a hardcore wrestling fan) would think that making a fighting style "button masher" would be best for a wrestling game.

Whereas, the Japan view of wrestling is very serious, and they know that "every match tells a story" as well as there is a science to wrestling.

Don't forget Yuke's, the other Japanese developer who made WWF games.

Yukes never made any wrestling games on the N64. They handle the "Exciting Pro Wrestling" series. (Better known to Westerners as "WWF/E Smackdown, Smackdown Vs RAW.")

That is one of the worst games ever made.

When I was in high school, my favorite games were the THQ N64 games. Then in college, Mayhem came out and I was beyond psyched. I bought it the day it came out and I've never been so disappointed. I returned it 2 days later. The gameplay and graphics were terrible, and the story was bland and practically non-existent. I still get pissed off when people talk about that game, and it's been 7 years.

Well, I thought it was OK. Then again, it's the only wrestling game I've ever owned. I was about 8 when I had it.

Wasn't Meyhem, EA's first attempt at a wrestling game?

I know the worst Non-NES wrestling game I've ever played was WCW Nitro on PSX and PC. It was complete crap.

All this talk about old wrestling games, made me remember about my old website I made years ago for Wrestlemania 2000. And, you know what? It's still up. Most of the pics are gone, and the counter doesn't work anymore but the damn site is still up!

Want a laugh?

There's a pretty big following online for the Fire Pro series. They have even made english patches for the PSX and PS2 versions that you can download.

I am thinking about getting Fire Pro Returns for PS2.

I still play Fire Pro Wrestling Wrestling X Premium on ZSNES.

You KNOW that Fire Pro Wrestling has been released here on the GBA. There was also a sequel that made it here, same platform.

Yeah, but I don't want to play it on the GBA. I could play MK: Deadly Alliance on the GBA too, as well as Tekken, and both suck.

FPW is for consoles, dammit.
