What are some good songs that deserve to be covered?

My vote goes to Pink Floyd's "Corporal Clegg". The song is cool, but the recording is old and shitty, and with modern studio techniques, someone could make it like 1000 times cooler.

someone should cover all of the coheed and cambria songs and at least use a real chick. the songs are awesome, but it's very hard to enjoy then wth claudio's voice.

I would also like to see a cover of roundabout by yes.

i wanna see some high singing easy listening band cover a band like Death or Sadus, so the words would be all satanic, but it would be all calm and everything.

That's basically what Richard Cheese does. Don't think he's done anything quite that obscure though.

Every AC/DC song released from Back In Black on, by a band with a singer who can actually sing.

how about anything by At the Drive-in. Actually, if they'd just re-record their songs, but have the singer sing like he does in The Mars Volta, that'd be awesome.

and Corporal Clegg's kazoos are a real trip.

Someone on this forum has actually heard of Sadus. Sweet.
I'd like to hear some Exhorder songs covered. Seeing someone cover "Homicide" or "Anal Lust" would make my day. Exhorder needs to be acknowledged, darn it!
As a side note, I am a fan of whenever bands change the song they're covering to suit their own style (i.e., Type O Negative's cover of "Paranoid", just about any song covered by Children of Bodom), because an exact, note-by-note cover just makes you want to put on the original song. (i.e., Avenged Sevenfold's cover of "Walk")

Both Machine Head and Excel covered "Message in a Bottle", check those out. I prefer Excel's version, but that's just me.

Here's a vid with Excel's version of the song:

Here's Machine Head's cover of the song: (I don't have the album it's on, because this was when Machine Head went Nu Metal, but I dig their cover)

You guys ever hear Pat Boone's metal album, it's pretty cock-rocking. The Osbournes theme song is on the album, along with Panama, No More Mr Nice Guy, It's A Long Way To The Top, Stairway To Heaven, and I wanna say something by Diop, but i can't remember

Does anybody here have a Ross Rifle?
