OK, new game. Name 5 movies that aren't currently on DVD that you'd like to see get DVD releases. Remember, this is the movie forum so you can't include TV shows. Most of the classics are already on DVD, so this should make for some interesting lists. Here's mine:

1. No Holds Barred (1989)
2. Mom And Dad Save The World (1992)
3. The Wizard (1989)
4. The Monster Squad (1987)
5. Digitally remastered versions of the original theatrical releases of Star Wars: Episodes 4-6. You know, the versions that are lacking random bullshit such as Greedo shooting first or Hayden Christensen appearing as Anakin.

1. Dolph Lundgren's Dark Angel (A.K.A. I Come In Peace) (1990): I just like the name Dark Angel better. I own the Region 2 DVD, but I need a special edition Region 1.

2. Linda (1993) - Virginia Madsen's greatest.

3. Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy- More than anything I want Bride of Boogedy for Eugene Levy before he was even close to making it big. Plus, they're just really great films.

4. Flash Gordon (1980): Rerelease. I missed it the first time on DVD. Out of Print now.

5. Double Dragon (1994): Rereleased. The lowest priced copy you can find is $40+

Knock one of mine to make room for:

Private Resort (1985) - The Johnny Depp sex comedy. I've seen this a couple of times on Showtime. It's just cool that Depp has covered every genre. And this is his SECOND movie (after ELM STREET).

I'm not really up on what movies have been already rereleased, but I haven't seen these around, so I'll list 'em anyway.

5. The Shaggy D.A. (1976)

4. Honey I Shrunk The Kids (1989)

3. The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975)

2. Killer Clowns From Outer Space (1988)

1. Flight Of The Navigator (1986)

Killer Clowns is out. I see it all the time for $7-10 and I always come very close to buying it. My local Target stocks a lot of the B-list live action Disney movies including Flight of the Navigator. They also have The Watcher in the Woods and the Herbie movies. I hate Herbie so fucking much.

1. "Lost Highway" - The REALLY bizarre David Lynch movie. Yeah, I know even a lot of Lynch fans themselves are confounded by this one, but c'mon. Region 2 has a decent version and there IS a pan and scan R1 release from Canada, but who the hell wants that?
2. "The Monster Squad" - This was SUPPOSED to be out this past spring, but it got canned. Why??
3. "Night of the Creeps" - I have a nice bootleg copy to hold me over for now (it even has the alternate cable ending!), but again... this is something Anchor Bay should be all over.
4. "He-Man and She-Ra: Secret of the Sword" - We've got the "Greatest Hits". We're getting the seasons and the Christmas special, but this one seems to be getting shafted due to some copyright issue. It makes me sad...
5. "Mr. Boogedy" and "Bride of Boogedy" - These Disney films terrified me as a little kid and I want to face my fears by seeing them again. Let's go Disney. Stop re-releasing the "Toy Story" films and put these two out.

3. The Wizard (1989) - Done.
4. The Monster Squad (1987) - You got it, July 24, 2007.
5. Digitally remastered versions of the original theatrical releases of Star Wars: Episodes 4-6. You know, the versions that are lacking random bullshit such as Greedo shooting first or Hayden Christensen appearing as Anakin. This also came out.

Syd, are you a prophet? And how long now until we see "No Holds Barred"?

"He-Man and She-Ra: Secret of the Sword" - Out as a part of The Best of She-Ra.
"The Shaggy D.A." - That's out.
"Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" - Out.
"The Apple Dumpling Gang" - Also released. Shocked
"Private Resort" - Yep, that too.
"Flash Gordon" - August 7, 2007. Cool

Alright! A lot of our dreams came true. How about Dark Angel? ...No. Crying Um, Linda? Nope... Double Dragon? Still out of print. Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy!? Not even close. DAMN!!! Evil

Lost Highway (1997) is the only one I'm still waiting for. I find it funny that Hollywood shed praise on Mulholland Dr. because it had a Silver Screen setting to it, but it had the exact same storyline as Lost Highway, which was panned.

The only thing I want to see is a DVD set of the Bucky O' Hare cartoon released in the U.S..

Aside from that, I can't think of anything else I'd like to see released.

Not the exact. And I love Mulholland Dr. but I HATE Lost Highway too. Razz

Someone whose relationship goes sour has a fantasy where both of them are different people, allowing them to be together in different, and better circumstances. Close enough.

That is so interpretation. Cause I'm a fan of the Pullman killed his wife and is stuck in Hell repeating variations of the murder again and again theory. And I don't believe Mulholland Dr. was a dream, but rather an extension of the pilot.

Yeah I did. But I think about Jessica Alba pretty much 24/7. The real Jessica Alba, not the one with the bad bleach job in FF4-2.

Regardless of any deviations in our respective interpretations of the films, the basic elements of the stories cannot be argued: In Lost Highway, Pullman becomes disillusioned with his marriage after realizing or imagining that his wife isn't as virtuous as he thought. Then we see him as someone else, and becoming involved with a different version of his wife, and it seems at first that they have a better chance of success because of his position in a hero role for her. In Mullholland Drive, we learn at the end of the film that the two protagonists were previously involved, showing the bulk of the film had the two women take on different roles after Watts' character became disillusioned by the nature of their relationship. Again, this time it seems to have a better chance of succeeding because Watts is cast in a hero role to "Rita".

Or this could all just be my interpretation of the facts, betraying my point that the two films are definitively alike.

Nonetheless, both seasons of Dark Angel are on DVD, including a new, slightly cheaper Slim Pack of each season.
