So, this WILL have wi-fi multiplayer, right? Making it the first contra you can play online with other people?

Or did xbox contra do that first?

Contra on XBLA did online co-op first.

Also, they were very mysterious about it. All I heard was Wi-fi multiplayer. I dunno which type of Wi-fi multiplayer.

Isn't the Xbox version just the fucked-up mame one, emulated? In that case, PC had online contra first. Haha.

It looks just a little too static for my tastes to be honest. It just doesn't look like contra to me, it looks like...generic platform shooter with a half-assed Contra skin on it.

The bald guy was right at pretty much every point. The graphics ARE worse than GBA games. Just look at Aria of Sorrow compared to that crap. It looks like jagged edged bullshit. Hard Corps is not a contra title to be neglected, and the rest of the guys go DUH CONTRA 3 WAS THE LAST ONE. The grappling hook looks boring and gimmicky; the bald guy said he wished it had been more like Bionic Commando. I can't trust the opinion of a team that is offhandedly dismissing Shattered Soldier and Hard Corps, which both fucking kicked ass.

What the hell is up with the desynced scrolling between the top and bottom screens?

I just think it looks very generic and boring.

i think it seems pretty fun. i'd like to buy it, but if its gonna be like the classic contra games difficulty wise, there's just no point in me getting this.

Hard Corps was simple once you memorized the boss patterns, and especially if you used the robot with the electromagnetic yo-yo. I got to the last boss on the hardest story arc, and saved every available bomb in the game for the final fight. I beat him without having to fire a single shot, and I think I had died one time total the entire playthrough.

I think Shattered Soldier was a bit tougher by comparison.

Yeah, but I suck ass at Contra games. I can't even get halfway through the first level in Conttra 3. Same goes for Super C.

I can beat Contra 3 on Hard, but not without trying. It's been a while. I can beat Hard Corps with a bit of effort. I'm okay at the first Contra as long as I don't die once, once I die a single time I give up and lose my will to play. I've never really played Super C. I've beaten Contra Force.

OK, I got this game, and it's awesome. Straight awesome.

The difficulty is great (I have to admit, after so many games being easy as hell, I am actually enjoying every moment of dying), the game looks beautiful, the music is ORGASMIC (Darkmaze, your dude did a fantastic job, especially with the 1st level AND 4th), and there's so much throwbacks to the old Contras that it's just fuckin' crazy. Shit, you wouldn't even know this was an outside job by looking at it.. I mean, these guys just really came through on their promise. Seriously, everybody NEEDS to buy this. and the challenge modes, extras and emulations of the NES Contra and Super C are the icing on the cake!

On normal mode though, this game is the definition of rape, so you'll have to go it easy. I was able to get through to stage 3 on Normal until I got Game Over'd, so yeah, I would say go it on Easy for a little while.

Edit: Nice, you can get Probotectors too!

You played Hard Corps? Try that, and then we'll talk about rape. God, I love that game, though.

I bought this last week and I have yet to play a game this hard on any of the newer systems. Easy and normal difficulty were pretty intense but playing this on hard seems impossible to beat( for me anyways). On hard I have not been able to get through level 1. What I like best about this game is unlocking the boss battle rematch challenges.

Just beat it on Normal. Now I just need to get some challenges beat so I can play some classic C and Super C.

Awesome game, but really short. I think it only took me about 25 minutes to beat.

I got this for my birthday. I have played it for about 3 hours and I keep getting my ass kicked. On easy.

Nextgen games have made me slow and lazy. Sad
