My money's on worse. I can see the asinine MiiVerse incorporation already.

I actually like Miiverse, with all its flaws. The only thing I have against it is that I'm positive that it's responsible for taking away one of the most important features of Smash Bros.:

I decided to spend the remainder of my Club Nintendo points today (which weren't a lot, but still). I found it infuriating that the Club Nintendo selection for the Wii and Wii U is so fantastic (Earthbound, Zoda's Revenge, Yoshi's Island, Golden Sun, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, Super Metroid, the original Smash Bros., Wrecking Crew, and Pilotwings, to name a few), while the 3DS selection is so...not. I decided to get three 3D Classics games: Kid Icarus (because I haven't actually played it before), Excitebike (because I adore it) and Twinbee (because it was only 150 points and that was all I had left).

Kid Icarus is decent, though I would honestly not be able to beat it without save states. The 3D effect isn't entirely necessary, but it does enhance the visual experience somewhat (I'm not sure it'd be worth the extra cost, though).

Something about 3D Classics: Excitebike seems...off. The 3D effect is actually really neat (it gives more depth and a bigger view the higher the 3D effect is, so you can actually see more), but the controls and the way the game feels seem off. I went back and dug up my NES copy of Excitebike to compare, and for some reason it's three times as difficult to maintain momentum in the air in the 3D Classics version. Basically, when in the NES version hitting ramps a certain way would send you flying forward, it seems pretty much impossible for any and all ramps not to simply slow you down in the 3D version. Don't buy it if you haven't already.

Ironically enough, I was expecting Twinbee to be a generic bullet ehll game, but I ended up enjoying it the most of the three. The graphics are adorable, the 3D effect is extremely pleasant to look at when turned all the way up, and the way the power-up system works (you have to physically juggle power-ups to activate them) adds a lot of depth to the game that I wasn't expecting.

Those are definitely good choices, especially considering some of the others. Did anyone really want or need Urban Champion remastered in 3D?

That was the dumbest thing ever.

And to add salt to the wound, Urban Champion was the THIRD of the 3D Classics released in North America, after Excitebike and Xevious.

Not to mention they abandoned doing the 3D classics almost right away. I have zero trust in Nintendo anymore.

But Sega has been the ones doing the 3D classics, and doing a mighty fine job with them too I might add. I hope they keep rolling them out.

It was Arika doing those classics, and they kind of suck.

Get 3D Twinbee, it's cheap and fun.
