What are your favorite fast food joints?

McDonalds-best prizes, decent meals, a tad cheaper, nostalgia, best fries

Burger King-best burgers, good fries, more options

In n Out-excellent burgers and shakes, cool hidden menu, their fries royally suck though

Little Caesar's-affordable, great pizzas, crazy bread

Great Kahn Mongolian Grill-pick your ingredients, stuff your bowl full and watch em cook it up for you! noodles, beef, pork, tofu, alfalfa carrots, cabbage, water cress, your choice of sauce. Yeah!

Edo's-great Japanese place where you also get to watch them cook up your orders and they serve boba I loooove their honeydew melon boba!

Subways-I like it waay better then Quizno's, the bread isn't dry and the ingredients are better.

Pizza Hut-I love Pizza Hut, they have better pizza then Little Caesar's but the one closest to us has terrible service

I know it's terrible for me, but sometimes I just really want to eat a Baconator from Wendy's. No mayo.

I don't know if I can list a favorite place, so you get my favorite menu item from each restaurant.

McDonalds- regular cheeseburger and fries

Burger King- poutine (sorry Americans)

A&W- Mozza Burger

Wendy's- JBC, though their chicken wraps are great too

KFC- Chicken Bowl

Taco Bell- Crunchwrap Supreme.

Fuck yeah.

I'll take a crack, too:

Wendy's - Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger, or Spicy Chicken

Chick-Fil-A - the classic Chicken Sandwich

Braum's - The regular cheeseburger (which is delicious) and Braum's Peppermint ice cream

Whataburger - Chicken Strips (though, they've been getting smaller and smaller...Sad )

I can at least tolerate all of the other restaurants on this list, but to be frank, Little Caesar's is utter, absolute shit. They make literally the worst, most abhorrent pizza of anyone ever. I'll take those frozen dollar pizzas from Wal-mart over Little Caesar's. It's basically just cheese and pasta sauce on dough-flavored gum.

Top Five Fast Food Restaurants: A List by Cameron Richter
1. Five Guys Burgers & Fries
-I'm not sure if this is actually "fast food" considering how expensive it is, but on the rare occasion I can actually afford it, their burgers are fantastic, and their cajun fries are probably my favorite fries of anywhere ever. The free peanuts are nothing to sneeze at either.
2. Lion's Choice
-Again, I'm not sure if this is fast-food, but they serve, more or less, the best roast beef sandwiches you're going to get at any reasonably priced restaurant. Their baked potatoes and strawberry sundaes are also worth mentioning.
3. White Castle
-Everyone else I know complains about how horrible they make your stomach feel, but I'm assuming the fact that I've been eating them since I was a little kid explains why they have no effect on me. Excellent jalapeno cheeseburgers and cheese fries.
4. Pizza Hut
-Everything on the menu is over-saturated with grease, and that's exactly how I like it. I don't eat pizza for my health. Their stuffed-crust pizza is transcendent.
5. Jack in the Box
-I included this on the list for both taste and affordability; their Breakfast Jacks are extremely reliable when I'm in a hurry somewhere and I need a cheap breakfast. Also have stellar curly fries with cheese, jalapeno poppers, and breakfast burritos.

Honorable mentions:
-Sonic (dem tater tots with cheese)
-Taco Bell (a guilty pleasure)
-Rally's (I'm not a fan of most of their food, but their fries constitute a presence on this list)

1. Five Guys - Amazing burgers for the price.
2. Taco Bell - I love me some 7 Layers.
3. Jack-In-The-Box - Sourdough Burger is the bomb.
4. Wendy's - Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers for 1.29 each & Frostys!
5. Uhhh... Can't think of a 5th. Hate Carl's Jr, BK and MD. And we don't have In & Out, White Castle, or Sonic in the Pacific NW. So, I does 7 Eleven Big Bites & Slurpies count as fast food? If so, then I guess 7-Eleven would be my 5th.

What the hell is Five Guys? Is this an East Coast thing? Also, Sonic commercials are constantly playing on TV yet I have never even seen an actual Sonic.

Edit: Never mind I guess we do have Five Guys around my area. Will have to check it out.

I guess I should add my list of favorite items from fast food places.

Jack in the Box - curly fries and tacos. I have not been to a Jack in the Box in about 13 years so I don't know how they hold up these days.

White Castle - hamburgers or cheeseburgers, by the case

Taco Bell - baja chicken chalupa (sadly discontinued) and cantina burrito, baja blast mountain dew

Burger King - onions rings with their zesty sauce

Wendy's - baconator, usually double or triple stacked

McDonalds - bacon clubhouse burger

Domino's - Hot wings and spinach and feta stuffed cheesy bread

Chinese - Fried dumplings, General Tso's, sweet and sour pork

Sonic - cheesy tater tots

KFC - famous bowl, cole slaw, popcorn chicken

Subway - footlong italian bread with at least two types of meat and as many additional items as necessary (varies)

Can't say anyting about the many places that are not available in my area, such as Five Guys, Carl's Jr., Chick-Fil-A, etc. I will note that I had Chipotle many years ago (around 15) and I thought it was ok, but I was living in California at the time and would rather just eat Mexican style food at a more authentic place.

Carl Jr's is basically a slightly better Burger King. Their burgers aren't as good as Whataburger though.

Chick Fil-A is slightly overpriced compared to the food portions they give you. However the chicken is good quality yet they cook everything in peanut oil and they use way too much salt in their food. Some people love eating here like its healthier than McDonalds when it really isn't.

In terms of sub shops I tend to think there are better options than Subway. for like 2 dollars more a footlong you get much better quality. I am a bigfan of Firehouse, Lenny's, Charley's and Blimpie.

I had no idea Blimpie still existed. I remember going there before I ever knew what a Subway was. I guess they moved out of my area a long time ago.

Only fairly recently has Five Guys become a new option for me. They also just opened a few Chick-Fil-A's in my area; up 'till now they've been exclusively in the south. I really wish they had Waffle House up here... Best waffles I've ever had. At least we have IHOP. No Jack in the Boxes in NJ either; had the opportunity to eat at one whenever I would visit my girlfriend in SC, but...yeah, missed those chances.

Never heard of Lion's Castle, Whataburger, Braum's or Rally's. I think I might have heard of Carl's Jr. and In N Out Burger though.

I really can't list any favorites: I enjoy eating many things at many fast food places, but I'm trying to cut down on fast food for health reasons. A long time ago, I would've said the Chicken Sandwich from Burger King, but lately I've had many that were either overcooked, dry or both so eating a good one like they used to make them is like winning the lottery now.

Lion's Choice is essentially Arby's, but with much higher quality meat (it's also a bit pricier, but worth it). And they have baked potatoes. Rally's is basically Carl's Jr./Hardee's with much higher quality fries. Haven't heard of the others, though.

Oh dude, if you're ever in the south, you should try Whataburger. I've only been there a few times when I went down to Florida in 2007, and I've been wanting it again ever since.

Ah, I forgot about Arby's. Their sandwiches always sound appealing but every time I have ever gotten one it ended badly for my toilet.

I am in agreement with Woodzy. It's always been terrible but it seems like sometime after 2000 any quality (not to say there ever really was any) to the foot went way downhill. Too much sugar, sodium and fat. Very addictive but just horrible for your health. I foresee a spike in colon cancer in addition to the spike in diabetes that is continuing. There are plenty of healthy things to eat that taste wonderful, take less time than fast food and fill you up and make you feel better about yourself than handing your money over to a teenager for some junk.

Yeah, I mean if at this point you don't have the life skills to cook yourself some food almost exactly like any of this stuff mentioned (which is cheaper, tastier and better for you) then you should throw in the towel and submit to being fat and gross in a few years. If you haven't learned it through experience, than the tools are right in front of your face on the internet.

If you STILL can't even do THAT, then you're lazy, and probably deserve diabetes.

Like, "Oh I can eat this burger and fries that exceeds my daily sodium intake and is almost my calorie intake for the day OR I can buy some better ingredients and make them myself in less time than it takes to go through the drive-through and will be healthier AND taste better".

You'd think it'd be an easy choice but no, people don't like to learn new things these days, especially many of the younger generation people I know. It's embarrassing.

There is no excuse. Money isn't an issues, it's cheaper. Time isn't an issue, it's the same fucking amount of time and you don't even have to leave your domicile. It's all about laziness and lack of knowledge, which is readily obtainable. It's disgusting.

To clarify, I am NOT calling anyone in this thread out, so don't come whining and bitching that I'm making you feel bad or something, it was just a general rant. This is directed at the people who make a lifestyle out of eating this shit every day.

I don't currently really have the money to eat it very often (if ever), especially considering my school tuition contains a meal plan for eating in the cafeterias on campus, but I think it's fun to at least list out my favorite choices from when my parents used to take me out eating when I was younger.

I would also debate with the idea that healthier food is somehow cheaper, tastier, and/or takes less time to prepare. I'm not really sure how it is in more urban areas, but the only available options for buying vegetables in rural areas (i.e. Wal-mart) are often way more expensive than is reasonable. People in rural areas would more than likely rather buy three or four Breakfast Jacks from Jack in the Box than a bag of grapes, which is the same price.

Let's take a look at Taco Bell's stuffed nacho, for example; it's a tortilla wrap containing sour cream, spicy sauce, spicy onion bits, and shredded chicken, all for $1.50. Sure, it might be cheaper in the long run, but buying all of those individual ingredients together (a pack of tortilla shells, a container of sour cream, spicy sauce, spicy onion bits, and shredded chicken) would easily run over $10, which is often more than people who make minimum wage easily have out-of-pocket. It does save money to buy your own ingredients, I'm not denying that, but I feel like there are other factors/reasons why people eat fast food that you guys aren't considering.

And, people wouldn't continuously buy fast food if they thought it tasted gross; different people have different palates. As for it taking lest time, simply put, a lot of people don't have the time or energy to prepare their own meals as often as they'd like, and making a five-minute trip into a drive-thru on the way to work or the way home is vastly more convenient than the potential 15-30 minutes it takes to prepare a good meal.

Again, I don't consider myself some kind of fast-food advocate championing its merits, but the idea that anyone and everyone has the time, energy, resources or even interest to simply swear it off for the rest of forever and that any dissenters deserve diabetes or any other potentially life-threatening illness is kind of a myopic perspective.

This is why obesity is so rampant in rural areas, this right here. Stop eating cheap shit that is filled with so much garbage ingredients for a single meal, let alone getting multiple of them (and probably a diet soda, you always see that sort of dumb shit). Maybe if those same people ate grapes for breakfast instead they would lose some weight, avoid the eventual health issues and realize that fast food is just cheap processed "foodstuff" with so many artificial preservatives and sweeteners intended to get you addicted in the first place.

Also, I would be absolutely stunned if I could get through a drive-thru in 5 minutes. I would have to leave home early and give myself an extra half hour to do a drive-thru, and that might be cutting it close.

I hear the time/energy argument a lot and whenever you press most of these people they will often admit to not knowing how to do it themselves. Ignorance in many areas is rampant in modern American society. Ignorance and endless fucking bullshit. Not many people are willing to learn unless forced or shown how to by another person. These same people probably have no grasp of how to properly manage their incomes in order to budget for food. Probably too busy buying electronics or other unnecessary shit that is trendy instead of allocating the proper amount of funds into a food budget. Your health is way more important than buying that brand new game that will cost 20 bucks less in a months time, that you will only play through once and will then collect dust or be resold to Gamestop for pennies. Fucking ridiculous.

I am so sick of people defending ignorant and lazy motherfuckers. We can do better as a society.

I don't see how eating fast food automatically equates obesity. Many people who eat fast food are obese, but I don't think it's safe to generalize that to everyone. I guess I should have clarified my Jack in the Box example by mentioning that four Breakfast Jacks can feed someone for an entire day. A bag of grapes (or any healthy food of the same cost) more than likely cannot.

I will admit I eat like shit. However, I have the opposite problem. I simply do not like the act of eating. 6 and a half feet tall and 180 pounds; I need to gain weight. However, when I do eat it is usually crap. I'd say it half and half actually, my girlfriend is usually the one that cooks but I do eat fast food like 3 times a week but I am very picky about it. Been trying to improve my diet but I just really don't care all that much. I have a high metabolism and have been skinny my whole life.

Not sure exactly why you guys are getting all bent over this innocuous thread about favorite fast food though. I mean, I can see your point and I agree on some of your points but...

I have witnessed what fast food can do to someone first hand. When my ex and me move back from Finland she fell in love with Taco Bell and gained nearly 30 pounds in no time because she ate so much of it. Obesity is a real problem in the U.S. But dammit I love some fast food. Just tried some Five Guys a few days ago and damn it was good and maybe I'll have some Taco Bell tonight when I do have a real craving to eat.
