I don't mind halo as a co-op game. I think it's pointless and boring as a competitive multiplayer FPS though, due to the restrictive movement and lame guns.

Just joking, but I notice a lot of people give the Halo sucks, PC games were better etc arguement, but did you ever own an Xbox or beat Halo or anything? Cus I notice all my Halo hating friends who say Half Life was better never did either. I even had one guy tell me it was a rip off of UT. Just wondering, everyone has there own opinions but I always will hold a place in my memory for Halo. When I first saw the Silent Cartographer Beach thing I really wanted to play that game. I refuse to read any novels about any game though.

Never owned an XBox. But what people seem to forget is that Halo was on the PC. I played it there, and it was indeed nothing special.

I also did non-online multiplayer on the XBox, and god did it suck. The level designs were atrocious.

Well, I dunno. I have Halo PC, its much better on Xbox. Nowadays Halo 1 is a little old but I have very fond memories of LAN parties with it. Blood Gulch, CTF, vehicles, melee attacks, grenades, etc was pretty fun. I thought the levels were fun. I don't like Halo 2 much though. Halo 3 I'm actually looking forward too, but yeah, I dunno. I play more then just Xbox, so I know how the PC games go, so I guess I can see why people scoff at Halo, but I always thought it was pretty cool. Side note, I just got my 360 back, yay!

I hope, in the distant future, science masters time travel, and the exploration of parallel universes, and we find a universe, where Nintendo got exclusive rights to Bungies games, and Halo was released on the Gamecube, just so I can shove it in the God damn Nintendo fanboys faces, that they know Halo is good, but they just won't admit it.

Until then, I have to put up with you assholes.

I really give up. Miss out on a good game because it wasn't made before 1995 and/or it doesn't have a Nintendo logo on it. Your loss.

There is one thing that irked me on the old Halo, pistol snipers bugged me. My friends usually did nothing but that, but still a fun game.

Whats wrong with games made before 95? I like those a lot.

Nothing's wrong with older games, hell, I think older games get more right than the games of today. Boot up an action game from 15 years ago. What do you do? Kill shit and move. Boot up an action game today. What do you do? Spend an hour finding shit followed by five minutes of killing shit. Lame. It was just a comment.

And yeah, the pistol was so overpowered in Halo.

Ahh, yeah. I played all NES during the time my 360 was dead.

I do sort of agree on the Nintendo thing....if Nintendo made Halo, I don't think people would have the same opinion, except strictly PC players, who BTW don't seem to be playing much presently, at least the ones I know and myself.

The pistol was the only gun I liked using in Halo. The rest of them are bland as fuck or just whore weapons. Most of the "skilled" kills in halo are people shooting rockets at each other's feet, or sniper whore kills. Pardon me while I make the universal motion for a handjob.

Here's a real game!

God, the people in that video are playing like shit and it STILL looks better than any console FPS could ever hope to.

As far as the Halo and FF arguments go, I'm pretty neutral on both of them.

I never minded playing Halo. I thought it was an okay game until one of my friends became obsessed with it. Every single weekend he would do nothing but play Halo, and bug me about playing Halo. My biggest reasons for not loving certain games usually have nothing to do with the games themselves, but rather having to put up with the people who love those games. Now I just like certain games when I may have had higher opinions of them before, such as:

Final Fantasy VII, X, XII
Halo
The Legend of Dragoon (Long story behind this)
Gears of War
Resident Evil 4
And many others.

I remember highschool. These four kids we're supposedly "So awesome" at Halo 2 that they had beat everyone in the school. They played me, and not only did I beat them on my first time playing the game, I beat them with an SMG and a Pistol It was either that or a battle rifle, I can't remember..

OK, I think it's time to come out and say I liked Halo. I bought Halo 2, 2 weeks after it came out and co-op in that and the original is the shit. I'll akin co-op to a FPS Contra. My favorite weapon to use was the sword, and that's all I would use.

I gotta torrent HL and get The Specialists very, very soon...and fuck around with it in hopes I can make an FPS Elevator Action mod.

I remember in high school, the first time I played Goldeneye against a group of kids other than my normal gaming group. These kids thought they were good, until I played them in the Basement with Proximity Mines. I racked up about 50 kills in 10 minutes by hitting the respawn points over and over and I think I may have actually ruined the game for them.
