Nah, I figured you would've dropped some sort of hint if you were working on something.
I had a roughly 9 or 10 year old computer before I replaced mine and would not recommend anyone simulate the experience. Having an old computer is definitely a deterrent to actually using said computer.

That's great, I'm going to celebrate by playing Bayonetta 2.
If you guys think I've been working on stuff all this time I haven't. My old computer was 11 years old when I finally ditched it, and was a piece of shit. Instead of prioritizing buying a new computer, I simply did less stuff on my computer as it got increasingly worse. Honestly, this site is the only thing I actually need a my computer for. If I want to play video games, I have consoles and a 3DS. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, internet surfing? I have a smartphone. Netflix? Also on my console, and I'd rather watch it on a TV anyway.
On top of that? I have had no time. My whole summer was spent working 70 hour weeks due to a strike at a competitor. The one good thing about that though was that it gave me money to buy a new computer, which I got last Wednesday. It is setup and it is awesome. The fact that it doesn't randomly hang for three minutes at a time when loading programs is going to make my interest in doing computer stuff way higher.
So, long story short, I'm a failure. Thanks for reminding me and ruining my week. |

The new computer is pretty awesome. It's so fast. I'm going through my external drive and I'm finding all these old unfinished articles I want to finish. And my sister is already working on new stuff. I can't let her one-up me!

Does this mean those placeholders are finally going to get filled?

Welcome back, Syd. Your dreams were your ticket out, and we fucking ruined them.
And Kris, nice article!

I don't know that I'll do those ones first, but yes. Most assuredly those will finally be things.

It will almost be sad to see the placeholders go. You at least be sneaky (or perhaps snarky) about it. I propose that when you have replacements ready, just quietly change the hyperlinks to real articles (without changing the screenshots and "credits" messages) and see how long it takes us to figure it out.

Congrats on reaching 10 years, Syd. Also, I'm glad you're gonna start writing again. I can't wait for more Kris articles, either. The Snackoween article was great.

I thought the article was kind of "meh" but maybe it was because there was no danger involved. Eating new foods is too safe. At least let them expire a bit first. Perhaps curdled milk in the cereal next time?

I remember when I first started reading the articles on this site 6 or 7 years ago. I also remember struggling to breathe when reading the "Clarissa Explains It All Game" article out loud to my friend because I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
Thanks for 10 great years, Syd! Thanks to everyone else on the forums for the good times
edit: and the IRC. You guys rock too

Like a lot of others, I discovered this place through the top 100 NES list. I'm not sure if that should be a focal point of the site, especially through the creation of more such lists. But I miss this place a lot everyday, and I feel like I really want to assist with touching up the site if it'll entice people to come back and be more active. I've got some free time coming up, and would be happy to look at whatever I can (which is admittedly not much. Maybe I can talk to a few others that are more code literate than I am).

I discovered the site through the Revolution X article because TV Tropes linked to the port comparison page. I'd like more arcade game reviews as well.
Also, holy crap, Hacker's last post in this thread is supremely eerie.

Agreed. I also mistakenly went to the first page of this thread, and the first post was Hacker a year ago. Crazy what can happen in a year.

I think, in honor of his memory, we really should get that food forum opened up.

The Food Forum Militia has existed for years, and I can't believe that forum hasn't been deleted by inactivity. It feels like I made this several lifetimes ago, and I had forgotten that a few people revisited it a couple years ago.
