Personally, I think this looks really dumb, but I'm not a fan of the Dynasty Warriors/God of War/Devil May Cry/etc. style of game to begin with. But it's interesting. Hopefully a real Zelda game isn't too far off into the future.

Yeah, not a fan already. First, it's goofy otaku pandering bullshit and second, it's exactly the opposite of the kind of shit the Wii U needs right now. We need BIG GAMES, not niche bullshit that only people who watch anime all day will buy. I know I'm being harsh but it's just such a dumb fucking move. No offense to anyone who enjoys those kind of games and for what it is, I'm sure it'll be a fine button smasher.

I am all for this. Nintendo's increasingly insane crossovers, including free Yoshi's Island DLC for Sonic Lost World, is pure fan service.

I don't like this, like most changes they made with Zelda in the last years. The only newer Zelda games i really liked were Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Because they are clearly inspired by OoT. This is too far from what Zelda is, in my oppinion.

I'm for this, just like I was for the Gundam Musou series. That said, DW is a pretty different animal from GoW/DMC, you go around slaughtering hundreds, if not thousands, of mooks to eventually battle officers and bosses; those other games involve more intricate button presses (especially the QTEs in GoW or the more intricate activity of high-level DMC play).

I've never played Dynasty Warriors, only the sister series Samurai Warriors. In Samurai Warriors Chronicles, a lot of missions have you in charge of multiple samurais, who you have to switch between and keep alive in the middle of a giant battlefield. I'm wondering if the Zelda game might do this, and who the other characters besides Link would be.

Depending on the setting, they could have OoT's Impa and Sheik, or Ashei and the Hero's Shade from Twilight Princess.

I don't like this kind of game either, but I'm vaguely intrigued at how well it will present itself.

Also, someone leaked a protagonist list but forgot to source it:
[SPOILER:154458d384]ALBW Link - Sword/Shield, Magic Rod - Musou: Whirlwind Slash (I'm guessing we saw him in the trailer)
Young Link - Kokiri Sword, Goron Link - Musou: Diety Fierce
Adult Link - Master Sword, Two Handed Biggoron Sword - Musou: Triforce of Courage
Toon Link - Master Sword, Skull Hammer - Musou: Hurricane Spin
Zelda/Shiek - Zelda Magic, Shiek Whip - Musou: Triforce of Wisdom
Ganondorf - Great Sword, Wizard (?) - Musou: Triforce of Power
Ganondorf2 - Dual Swords, Warlock - Musou: Great Flood[/SPOILER:154458d384]

And for those who follow pro wrestling: https://twitter.com/the_ironsheik/status/413393156197990400

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.

You know, I feel like they need to do a Mario version of this.

Mario has a more iconic rogues gallery, and a more diverse protagonist list. Sure, Mario isn't known for using swords, but he's got enough different attacks that that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm still waiting for a Mario FPS style game. Kind of like the shooter levels in Banjo Tooie, but Nintendo'd out to be even more awesome. Here's my thinking: I hate most racing games, but Mario Kart games are absolutely awesome. Most people aren't that into Fighters, but everybody and their dog digs on Super Smash Brothers. In a world of drab grey shooters that all look the same, why can't we have an awesome, colorful, Mario shooter? I'm sure that Nintendo could figure out a way to make that genre as fun and charming as they do all the other games that get hit with the Mario Ray. It could also draw in a bunch of people to the WiiU that only play Halo and CoD, but need some of that sweet Peanut Pop-Gun sniping action.

Polygon gave it a meh. But you know, if you like Dynasty Warriors, it'll probably be entertaining regardless.
