THE WORLD'S biggest computer game maker has cut itself into four units in a bid to make it more efficient.

Electronic Arts is suffering from being too big and too slow, according to new chief executive, John Riccitiello.

His answer is to divide it into units that focus on sports, casual games, the Sims franchise and other games.

No one will lose their jobs in the changes, but EA thinks that some how it will save it cash. The idea is that there will be fewer executives to approve new games or to approve introducing an existing game on a different platform or in different regions.

***

So, basically all the games that true gamers care about are in a section known as "Other Games". The C&C Franchise, FPS games, RPGs, etc.

And, why the hell does The Sims need it's own section? It's not like they are doing anything other than release stupid Clothing packs and shit for The Sims 2.

EA, I hate you.

Yeah, seriously. How hard is it to make a Sims game. "Oh, your dog shit in the yard and now you're pissed? Code that bitch in the game!!!"

I remember when "EA Games" didn't stand for shovelware garbage and rehash bullshit. I remember when EA was responsible for titles like Mutant League Football, NHL '95, and General Chaos.

I like how two of the categories are "Casual" and "Other".

Both "Sports" and "The Sims" could fit into the "Casual" category.

To me, a casual game is something that appeals to non-gamers, something like Monkey Ball or DDR. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything like that that EA makes.

So what exactly is "Other"? All their movie licensed games and action games? I mean, is this the category TimeSplitters falls into? Do you have any idea how insulting that is both to programmers and gamers that EA doesn't even consider their LOTR games to fall into a real category? Instead of "Other", the catgeory should be called "Decent".

And how is splitting the company into 4 divisions going save money on executives? Wouldn't that create MORE executives?

Command and Conquer kicks ass. It should have its own category instead of The Sims, a game which blows so hard it rips dick skin.

The Sims was a good time waster in college. Later, without the allure of it as a procrastination tool, my interest in it waned.

I lost interest in the Sims when my mob boss "had a change of heart" and got a desk job. I think he retired and lived in his castle after that.

You can only trap a child sim in a doorless room full of fireplaces and force her to keep lighting them until the room catches fires and kills them, and then force the parent to weep over the urn so many times before it gets boring.

That or make a "basement of doom", lure neighbor sims into it, then trap them in 4x4 cells with windows, so they can see all the other trapped sims. Then paint pictures of the trapped sims to hang on the walls around the cells to mock them.

Yeah, I am pretty burned out on the game.

I think that Sims, Madden, and all that other rehashed shit should go into a category named Gayness.

No, no.

The Sims and Madden should be lumped into a department called Games We Can Alter Ever So Slightly Ever 12 Months And The Re-Release At Full Retail Price
