I currently have 12 Wii games that I own that are still Factory Sealed. I am wondering if any of them are worth opening and playing.
The Twelve titles are:
Ant Bully
Avatar: Last Airbender
Barnyard
Chicken Little: Ace in Action
Cooking Mama
Grim Adventures
Happy Feet
Medal of Honor Vanguard
Monster Truck 4X4
Rampage: Total Destruction
Red Steel
Sonic (I think Syd said this was a good game)
Anyone play any of these?
Any Good?
For the Record* Im trying to collect them all thats why I have games such as Happy Feet.

Red Steel is the most probable of the games, it has mixed reviews and i haven't personally played it. Cooking mama is alright, but it's basically the DS version-lite.

Never played the DS version if that would make a difference.

Cooking mama is just a game where you basically follow instructions and uses basic utility of the wiimote... It's a little more frustrating than the DS. It's not entirely worth it, but it's more like tons of the various mini-games that are out for Wii right now. Not an essential.

Well Red Steel it is then. I kinda wanna open Rampage because the original and World tour, is on there if I'm not mistaken, but then again both of those games are lying around the house somewhere.
I also have Medal of Honor Vanguard and Sonic & the Secret Rings unopened, so twelve sealed games.

I might just say fuck it and open them all because I don't plan on ever selling them except in like 20 years as a "Complete Package" for 1.5 Million dollars.

That's like trying to sell an iPod 50 years later as the "complete package".
Kitschy losers don't know about "collections", and those games aren't good enough to be justifiable as part of a "retro gaming" package.

Thats a bad comparison...an Ipod is just a storage device, thats like trying to sell a 3.5 floppy disc, a video game console has games. To sell a system with everygame ever released (in the US) hardly bears any resemblance.
We'll find out in about 20 years though...I have 29 of the 61 titles out now, so I still got some catching up to do.

Hardcore gamers are the only ones who give a shit about being collectors. The Wii isn't meant to appeal to hardcore gamers in any event, so you're wasting your time. The iPod comparison is a perfectly valid one, as the Wii subsists largely on "tickle-me-elmo" and iPod appeal. Its popularity is fueled by the media telling people they should have it, and people thinking they're cool for owning one.
Most people who own a Wii are content with Wii sports. 90% of the shit on Wii is shovelware from the ps2 era with remote wiggling added, and nobody will even want to own the "complete" collection. Unless they're a fucking moron.
I'd say your best bet would be to make a GOOD game collection. Wait until 2 years after the Wii has been out and there'll probably be awesome and unique games. Those games are just...goddamn worthless.
The large amount of shitty games for the Wii coupled with bad third party support can probably be explained by it's expected failure and unexpected success. Everyone at E3 laughed at the Wii. It sold like hotcakes, and now people want to jump on the bandwagon. What do they do? Publish a bunch of fucking trash with Wii controls tacked on. Wait two years for a creative and innovative dev who can actually think up a good way to use the remote in a game and handle the hardware properly and you'll have a solid and unique game. In the mean time, enjoy your Bug Bullies.

I dunno, A lot of hardcore gamers seem to have a Wii, especially around here. But yeah, those games don't seem too great so maybe you should keep them sealed and just sell them now, unless you wanna get a complete Wii game set or whatever.

Sonic is awesome, Red Steel is pretty cool, and Rampage is good fun. Of course, when I speak of Rampage, I speak of the GCN version. The controls could be kinda fucked on the Wii version.

I will definity not argue the fact that some of the games I own are indeed useless, and are hardly "wanted" games. I would just like to own them all period. Plus when I have a child I have a set of fairly simple set of games to corrupt him/her with.
Now I in no way feel I am "cool" because I own a Wii. I do however adore the shit out of it. If I want graphics I'll supe up my PC, If I want fun games and a vast library of multiplayer/minigames, I turn on my Wii. I was clearly stating 1.5 mil as a joke, but a complete collection of just about anything will usually fetch a high price.
Plus a Wii to kids today is going to be like the NES is to us in 20 years. Nostalgia has a price that a lot of people are willing to pay for. As far as your Ipod tickle me elmo comparison I'm still not seeing it. People aren't just buying it because it's the "thing" to buy. Kids and adults alike are playing the system and purchasing it. I hardly see the media pushing Wii's down peoples throats. As well as the fun they are having with the machine. That to me is the sole purpose of Video Games. Fun. Pardon the long winded rant.

Gaming systems can indeed fetch a decent price years later, even ones that sucked. The 3DO does not come cheap.

Like I mentioned before my buddy who is staying with me collects NES games, he has about 600 some NES games and he is hardly the definition of the HARDCORE gamer. In fact he hardly plays anymore, minus Guitar Hero and Wii at random intervals. I'm not neccesarily counting on the Wii system itself to sell well in 20 years but the library, selling it as a "lot" can create a large amount of capital.

I imagine systems will fetch a decent price in 20-30 years, especially if you have multiple controllers and the motion sensor.

I imagine a pile of dog shit from Elvis' dog would fetch a good amount of cash on ebay. Case in point, there's a person out there who will buy anything for any price.
I just think the Wii largely sells on hype and gimmicks, and that it basically doesn't give the interactive experience it claims to at this point in time. I hate seeing those commercials of everyone jumping around their living rooms like assholes.

I will agree with you on that, I hardly have as much fun as they seem to be having on the commercials, but I am having a lot of fun playing the system. I do in fact like Wii Sports however I hardly play it anymore. Tiger Woods has now taken over my life. Sad thing is this is the first Tiger Woods game I have played. And I really like Big Brain Academy...A LOT!
EDIT: Nothing related to your post, but I have always been fond of Disney and animated/CGI films, and the games that accompy them, though childish, are surprisingly entertaining.
