A counter thread to my original thread.

Well then, how good do you imagine games getting in the future?

I'm thinking GTAVI with the ability to go into any indoor location.

I'm thinking Ninja Gaiden 2 aggressive ai coupled with more enemies.

I'm thinking better feedback from intelligent gamers to companies.

What are some of your ideas on the good future of gaming?

edit: thread title changed. This thread is now about future innovations that will impact the industry. (Impact for the better/worse/both.)

I'd like to see a wide open sandbox game with all of its audio properly leveled.

I'd like to play a space fantasy MMO that let's you be a member of some alien race, have planets with economy, sim interaction while on a planet, and your own ship that you can build however you want. Escort missions would be less onerous as you would protecting your own and allies resources, and you could team up in squadrons for dog fights. There would also have to be some sort of balance to make casual play enjoyable amongst the all-day gamers. This probably already exists, but I have not heard of it.

I would like to one day see some kind of Star Trek like holodeck get invented. Gaming and movies would both benefit from that kind of tech. It's probably at least decades away, if it is ever possible at all.

In related news, Mighty No. 9 cleared its initial kickstarter goal within 2 days; with stretch goals to get it on the Wii U, 360, and PS3.

Nintendo could translate the Famicom Detective Club and early Fire Emblem games for the Virtual Console.

Edit: That, and Nintendo releases a new proper light gun attachment.

Nintendo could stand to fully acknowledge that other regions exist. I came up with a solution for opening all regions to each other that requires both Nintendo and gamers to meet each other halfway.

Also, Nintendo has a historically poor track record with peripherals. I just want to see every peripheral out there get the same attention that the Guitar Hero and Rock Band stuff did.
