Yeah, I already said so on Facebook but this is a sensationalized bag of shit. First off, it's an article from Metro, which is owned by the same company as the fucking Daily Mail, basically the Enquirer for the UK. Second, it took an extremely well written article from Polygon and twisted it. Here is the actual article:

I am in no way saying that death threats are okay obviously, but neither is shit reporting and sensationalizing situations to bring out the white knights from everywhere. The XBOX One team received death threats on a daily basis, George Lucas got them from fans because of Episode 1, the fucking Call of Duty team gets them because they got gun details wrong. Why is this any different, and why aren't we talking about those?

I'm kind of tired of the whole social justice movement that attaches on to something like this, ignoring every similar situation in the past, especially when it comes to women. Yes it sucks, no you're not a special snowflake for pointing out that it happens, it's been going on since the entertainment industry was invented. And since men were the primary leaders in those fields back in those days, they received the brunt of the abuse. Now that women are also receiving abuse, it's cause for campaigns and articles and hashtags and tumblrs about it? Give me a break.

Do I care about the lady's job and the work she's done? Not particularly, nor am I even that aware of it. Do I think she deserve to get harassed? Not in the slightest. I guess it's more of an adult thing to not wish death or harm upon them because of fucking video games.
