When I was like nine years old, I had a lot of time at home alone during the summer, so I played the NES a great deal. I have fond memories of playing Super C pretending I was the guy with the gun and I was on a top secert mission to resuce that mouse girl from Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers. I used to think that mouse was so hot.

I don't like the idea of silent protagonists. Whenever I'm playing as one, I project the voice of the TF2 Spy to my character.

I made up so many imaginary scenarios regarding videogames i couldnt even count them. I also often compare things in RL to videogames. There is a certain way the sky can look that always reminds me of the sky in DMC 2. I get that unique feeling when i see it. That is just one example though.

I liked being silent and not reading the emails I wrote in Digital : A Love Story for some reason. It was weird at first, but later on I kinda got it and it made things feel cooler for some reason.

I like silent protagonists. I mean, look at Sonic the Hedgehog. Some of the modern day Sonic games have been fun, but the voice acting is always dreadful. When people complain that Mario/Zelda don't have voice acting, I usually point to those games.

I was referring to RPGs, particularly ones in which the player is meant to project themselves onto their avatar and especially ones that weirdly give the player written dialogue but not a spoken voice, unlike every other character.
Speaking of Nintendo voice acting, Nintendo has a thing for robotic voices lately. I think it's really weird how Game & Wario has only one game with full voice acting (with a robotic-sounding pirate captain), despite the marketing campaign for it having plenty of Wario dialogue. Compare to the monotone explanations in Smooth Moves and Nintendo Land's Monita.

Have only briefly played Generations, refuse to own it, because they didn't put it on Wii or Wii U. I do like that Classic Sonic doesn't talk.

I haven't cracked open G&W yet. Is this the Shield Pose demo from like 3 years ago?

Yeah. They haven't added much to it, and it's the one that comes before the credits.
Speaking of Game & Wario, they changed the character designs to match those of Rhythm Heaven Fever. As a result, I didn't recognize some of them because none of the characters other than Wario have pupils anymore, especially Mona. I get that WarioWare and Rhythm Heaven are cut from the same cloth, but why change out WarioWare's unique look for that?

I played Dragon Warrior I, II and III on the Game Boy Color. A great experience enhanced by portability, and while I'm not one to complain about graphics per se, the illustrations were expectedly a bit more barebone than the NES versions. I'd have to say that imagination definitely helped this game.

NES image yoinked from Syd Lexia - 50 NES Quotes Every Gamer Should Know.
Which reminds me, at some point I should go replay Dragon Warrior III. Naming comrades after your friends is pretty entertaining, and feeds the imagination. I'm sure most of you guys have done this with Final Fantasy I.

I've made it all the way toward the end of Dragon Warrior 3, and seem be stuck at the moment. The monsters get much more difficult when you get to that dark world from DW1. I've spent tons of time leveling up but they still kick the shit out of me by the time I can reach the tower. Once I get in there those monsters make haste in fucking me up.
The game is so amazing, though. I wish I could've had this when I was a kid. It puts every other RPG on the NES to shame.

It's on 3DS, so it's not like Sega left Nintendo out in the cold.

I have that version, but the VA is minimal, hence my not having mentioned it.
