There may be a thread on this or maybe i just imagined this.

I've been thinking recently that there are so many games coming out within the next three months or so that i definitely want to pick up or at least there are a large number of big name titles coming out.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out next week.

Borderlands 2 is out the week after that. The new WoW expansion i believe is out then too though i have no interest in it.

At the start of October, Resident Evil 6 comes out. Dishonoured comes out the week after that.

Doom 3 BFG edition comes out for consoles the week after that...

THEN at the end of October Assassins Creed 3 comes out.

Then Halo 4 and COD:BLOPS2 come out which i don't have much interest in.

However Paper Mario: Sticker Star comes out at the start of November. Then Hitman: Absolution comes out a week or so after that.

Then even into early next year: South Park: Stick of Truth, The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Dead Space 3.

Then there are games which will probably be out before the end of the year without release dates like the new Starcraft 2 expansion: Heart of the Swarm.

The number of games that are coming out worth getting is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure i am forgetting some as well.

What are you looking forward to?

EDIT: I forgot the new Amnesia game: A Machine for Pigs.

I'm kind of hard for Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us. Beyond that, I can't say I've followed the game coverage much.

I was looking forward to Devil's Third then it got cancelled...

Mikami's new survival game isn't gonna be coming out for awhile...

Shin Megami Tensei IV isn't gonna be out soon as well...

So I guess in the immediate horizon I am looking forward to playing that Namco survival horror arcade lightgun game (Dark Escape 3D) this year and maybe ZombieU.

Oh yea, I shouldn't forget Tokitowa and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle in 2013.

Just RE6, and "looking forward to" might be a stretch. As long as it's better than 5 then I'll call it a success.

There are really only two or three games coming up that I'm looking forward to:
Pokemon Black and White 2 (Already Preordered)
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning (Also already preordered)
Borderlands 2 (Going to wait for a GOTY edition or something that includes all/most of the DLC that will inevitably come out or a really good Steam sale of course)

Like Cam I also have a bunch of games that are out that I need to buy still:
Max Payne 3
The Skyrim expansion
Binding of Issac
3DS Mario Kart
3DS New Super Mario Bros game or whatever the hell it is called
I'm sure there are others that have slipped through the cracks too

Other than the above I'm going to wait on reviews on these before trying them if I try them at all because I have my doubts about them being good:
RE6 (Mostly because the last two games and Operation Raccoon City made me hate them)
Dead Space 3 (Mostly because they'll have to really do something interesting to make it not just another sequel)

Borderlands 2 is going to be a day-one jam for me. I am so ready.
Bioshock Infinite
The Last of Us
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Assassin's Creed 3
XCOM: Enemy Unkown (the strategy one)

Games That I'll Wait for After Their Release Depending on Their Responses:
Far Cry 3. The Far Cry games always had a lot of promise, but would always be marred by either stupid gimmicks or enemy AI/spawning. Crytek's been really pleasing with the Crysis games, so I'm hoping they've learned their lesson this time around.

I have my eyes peeled for Warfighter, mostly just out of interest. They keep talking about these really interesting things they're doing with single-player. I took a chance on the last MoH. It had a good multiplayer, but a lot of wasted potential in single-player. I'll rent it if it's not a lot of bullshit this time.

Black Ops 2 is the same as Warfighter. They're promising an open-ended, strategy-type single-player campaign that has branching endings. I just hope it's not a lot of shit.

Tentatively looking forward to RE6. I'm okay with it going action route. I always just dug the tension of 1-4, but I just don't want it to be as balls-out dumb and poorly-designed as 5.

I was really just listing a lot of games that were going to be coming out which may be worth picking up in my original post.

I was pretty sceptical when i first saw the RE6 footage. The whole regen/herb system was very off putting.

Though i've seen some more gameplay footage of it and it could be decent. My original thought was that the game was going to be pretty bad. Albeit the footage i've seen is mostly Leon footage and not Chris aka more survival horror and not gears of war styled.

I'm pumped for Aliens: Colonial Marines, the South Park RPG and the new X-Com! This is probably the most excited I've been about video games in the last 10 years!

I found out last night that a new Castlevania game is coming out for the 3DS on my birthday. I am excited to get and play that one, for sure. Also, Lords of Shadow 2 I think is coming out this year, and I will be all over that as well. I love Castlevania and would buy anything with the name slapped on it, no matter the quality.

They definitely aren't great by any means, but some level of fun can be had with them.

The N64 Castlevania games were decent. Judgment is terrible and Harmony of Despair would be great if it was not designed to be a multiplayer game.

I mean, come one, the first N64 Castlevania had skeletons riding motorcycles! Also, it was the first 3D game in the series.

EDIT: Also, the music in all of the games I mentioned is most excellent.

What pisses me of about newer Castlevania games, though i still think most of them are pretty good overall, is tha anime-esque road they tend to take. This doesn't fit the atmosphere of Castlevania. Castlevania is about being alone and standing against the hordes of evil. It's not about a bunch of overstylized anime characters that get drawn toghter by a trashy plot that no one cares for.
That is also why i liked Lords of Shdaows. I mean, it is different from the original Castlevania games (wich are superior in terms of atmosphere to ANY new one) but at least it is fucking dark and you feel fucking lonely. I also liked the narration, it really got me in the mood. Like i was playing an old forgotten story that unfolds now in front of me.
