Happy (fucking) Valentine's Day. Anyone have any stupendous plans? After I get home from school I plan on watching Dirty Harry and then taking a nap, then going jogging.

I'm going to meet my other band mates to learn a couple of new songs together. Then i will go home and probably drink myself to sleep while playing FF XIII.

I'm going to post songs all day and drink a big ass bottle of smoked porter.
The hell of it is that I have a girlfriend and all. I just can't see her because of work schedules and geography. It's too bad. V-day sex is pretty swell.

I took the lady friend out to dinner and did the whole Valentine's Day thing last night, was nice.
As for actual Valentine's Day? I too will be having band practice all evening.

The gf is working all day and night so it's been postponed till the weekend for us. We typically go to a steakhouse, but it's Lent now, so that has to be put off for Saturday, instead of Friday. I don't go to church as often as I should, so I try to lessen my guilt by following the rules of Lent.
So, taking her to some crappy movie she wants to see tomorrow after work. At least there's theatres that serve food here. Gonna console myself with beers, nachos, and fish & chips.

Is it Beautiful Creatures? If it is, you deserve a beer for taking one for the team.

The wife and I did Valentine's at a local italian restaurant Tuesday night (beat the crowds and to accomodate our schedules). Tonight will be spent baking cupcakes and preparing devilied eggs for my mom's 70th birthday party this Saturday.

Thankfully no. My friend's gf actually is trying to convince her to have us double date that one, but thank God, my gf has no interest in it. Surprising, considering it's right up her Twilight alley.
We're going to Identity Thief, which to me, is the epitome of stupid comedy flicks done for a quick buck and appealing to the lowest common denominator. Jason Bateman is a great straight man, but he must have done this one for the money.
I have no right to complain though, as she lets me drag her to tons of boy movies, the aforementioned Twilight notwithstanding.

Mai Waifu is on her way to a con right now, so I'm probably gonna spend some time fucking my hand, then go to work tonight.

I bought myself some fruit tootsie rolls because I was so surprised to see them sitting on a shelf at Wal-Mart yesterday. I'm going to eat those while I watch some movies with a friend. Also I need to finish off some pineapple juice so I'm mixing that with pineapple Malibu because coconut Malibu is unpleasant.

I feel your pain. My gf's favorite movie is Alice and Wonderland. You know...the Tim Burton one. Ugh.
Still, her tastes in film don't hold a candle to her taste in music...it's an evolving issue.

Mine loves bullshit "hard rock" like Shinedown, Chevelle, System of a Down and Disturbed. The kinda thing that jocks in HS listen to when they go through an "alt" phase, and where every sung syllable inexplicably begins with an H. Fortunately, she knows my tolerance level for that stuff.
But hey: my last gf's favorite artist was Dave Matthews, so at least I've made some progress. The crap my gf listens to can at least be ignored. Matthews actively pisses me off.

I don't know how my gf and I are such good fits for each other even though our tastes in music, movies & TV are so disparate, but we just are. It's weird.
At least I've gotten her into sci-fi, but she did get mad when I made her watch ST2: The Wrath of Khan because of the death at the end made her cry. She cries during almost every movie, though. She just can't handle character deaths.

Heh, I set up so many of these types of jokes with my phrasing in real life that it's crazy. You'd think I'd learn.

I'm not seeing anyone right now, and one of my friends just went through a pretty terrible break up, so I'm gonna go see the new Die Hard with him. Anything to keep him from being alone and miserable in his apartment.

Well, this Valentine's Day I finally heard those three little words I'd been waiting for:
"Yippee Ki-yay, motherfucker."

I spent this Valentine's Day gently sobbing and listening to "One Toke Over The Line" on loop.
Or something.
I think I worked, played some MTG, and then went to Chili's with some friends.

Did the exact same thing, 4 course meal for $25/person... 6pm reservations at a great restaurant. When we left the place was so packed and had a wait of about 2 hours.
