Cue the flaming.

I don't think I'm going to get Hearthfire. The last thing Skyrim needs is more shit for me to sink my time into.

I might prefer this over other DLC. There's something about typical tack-on DLC that makes it feel just like that- a few questlines stapled to the main quest. Hearthfire could just be a nice little way of rounding out the gameplay and stealing my life twelve hours at a time.

OK, this might reveal just how lame I am, but that sounds AWESOME. I am the kind of guy who will spend hours decorating and arranging loot in my houses so building my own damn house however I feel like appeals to me.

And on the topic of expansions not being that fulfilling; I bought Dawnguard and while it's fun, it doesn't really add a whole lot of anything new. Vampire Lord gets old fast, you can max the skill tree in a couple hours and then there's nothing further to it, the actual plot is kinda short and there are few new monsters which is always something I look for in add-ons for some reason. A bunch of skeletons with more hit points and slightly tweaked models are not impressing me.

I am quite a ways into Skyrim, but only on my first character.

I have been playing a casting class destruction mage, but I really want to play as a bow based character and a full on tank warrior as well. If this DLC comes out for PC by the time I get to my third character, I'd play it.

I just hope this DLC allows real customization, and its not like the houses in Morrowind. Even if it is like the faction houses in Morrowind, I will still get it, but I am hoping for a little better customization.

For XBOX 360.

I haven't seen them mention PC.

Oh my. That is very impressive - and it's also the first I've heard of it.

On top of that: my first post.

Anyway, so is this a sort of...legitimate expansion? I mean, Dawnguard was fun and all...but
Hearthfire was pfffftbuildahouse.

Hey new person. Leave while you still can.

This DLC looks incredible. If I had more money I would probably buy Skyrim (high time I did) for it.

Or I could just wait for a Game of the Year edition to come out, or something.

Was that Morrowind in that video? I sure hope so. Morrowind is awesome. Probably just the displaced Dunmer in Solstheim, though. Still sweet looking.

They announced that it was Solstheim. I'm psyched, because Bloodmoon could have been so much better and more popular if they had been able to get some more time into fleshing out the locales and questlines.

from rpgamer.com:
Bethesda has announced that PC and PlayStation 3 owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will finally be able to catch up on DLC offerings in February. This news is particularly good for PlayStation 3 gamers, as they haven't yet had access to any of Skyrim's major DLC offerings.

Dragonborn, the most recent DLC pack, will be available for PC on February 5. It will be available on the PlayStation Network in early February, followed by Hearthfire, then Dawnguard. All three should be available by the end of the month, and will be discounted by fifty percent during the first week of availability. Players can watch Sony's PlayStation Blog to see the exact release dates of the DLc packs as they become available.

So I got the Dragonborn DLC on the 360.

It's a really short story (I beat it in several hours over two sittings.) but it adds some cool stuff. Like a nice new shout (two, actually. But I only consider one useful), exploration of Solstheim, a fun mine quest, new enemies, and exploration of Oblivion.

Still playing through it, and the side-quests are pretty fun so far.

I read there's a way to get a house after doing so many misc. quests, so I'm trying that.

Do you think they'll do a bundled DLC pack for Skyrim?

They usually do after all the DLC is released. I have no idea if they have any more planned DLC for Skyrim, though.
