I just watched this video, and I must say, I'm super excited that our favorite dino is getting his own game again. It's going to be made by some of the same people who created "Kirby's Epic Yarn", (presumably Good-Feel Co., Ltd.) and it's going to be directed by Takashi Tezuka, who also directed "Yoshi's Island" and "Yoshi's Story."

I hope the music will be as memorable as the music in Yoshi's Island.

Looks alright. I like games starring Yoshi. Yoshis Island was pretty good, except for annoying Baby Mario. Yoshis Story was a little too cute for my taste, but still an entertaining game.
The brokan English the narrator speaks was funny too.
it was the best of times
it was the blurst of times
I am sure I will get it and play it, but I am not that excited about it.

Yoshi's Island is the greatest Platformer ever made, so if this game is even a fraction as awesome as Yoshi's Island, or even the excellent Yoshi's Story, this game will be great.
Did any of you guys ever play any of the Yoshi's Island games for the Game Boy Advance or the DS? I've never played any of them and was wondering if they're worth checking out.

If you don't mind the sound being inaccurate in varying degrees, I'm sure they're fine. I played a little of the DS version and something was different about it but I couldn't put my finger on it.

You can have personal opinions, but that is just baffling to me.
Super Mario World
Super Mario 3
Sonic 2
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse
Donkey Kong Country 2
These are games I would consider top contenders for best platformer ever. Yoshi's Island, not so much. I can understand liking it, certainly, but holding it in the highest of esteems is a little much.
I don't know, I've heard a few claims for Yoshi's Island being the best platformer ever so I wouldn't contest that choice. I'm not much of a fan of the game myself though.
Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.

The reason it's my favorite Platformer is because I've had more fun playing Yoshi's Island than any other game in the genre. I loved the unique gameplay of creating and throwing eggs and Yoshi's flutter jump, plus the powerups were cool. I thought the level design was superb (especially the level "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy). The boss battles were great (except for Roger The Potted Ghost, who was so easy, you would have to be the worst gamer ever not to beat him). And though they are polarizing, I personally love the visuals and music. Oh, and there are some other good things about it as well, such as the minigames, the introduction of red coins, and the fact that it removes the timer from past Mario games, which gives you more time to explore the levels, which is a good thing, because the levels in Yoshi's Island are much longer than in previous Mario games. Simply put, everything about the game is perfect.* That is why it is my favorite Platformer of all time. And sorry about my post. I did kind of come off as a dick.
*With the exception of Baby Mario's annoying cries and Roger The Potted Ghost.
