As we all know, Journey To Silius was originally going to be based on The Terminator before Sunsoft lost the license and they changed the story. What if the same fate befell other such games? I'll start:

Little Nemo: The Dream Master

Lieutenant Ned Morse is a former Marine suffering from PTSD, and has found himself unable to sleep well. One day, he comes across an ad asking for a guinea pig for experimental sleeping pills. They come in a package of seven, one to be taken per night. While they do provide a good night's rest, they also cause vivid dreams of gauntlets that Ned overcomes with his training and, when he wakes up, he loses one-seventh of his total alertness, his otherwise refreshed state notwithstanding. When he awakens from the seventh dream, he'll be fully alert, but not in his home...
