So, I recently got myself a 360 and have been making lists of games to get now that I have a current generation console. The only part of my list that I need help with is RPGs.

I need some recommendations of good RPGs for the 360, as I have a lot of free time to sink into some games. So basically anything other than the Fallout or Elder Scrolls games, as I already have those on a list.

Blue Dragon was fun.
Lost Odyssey was good, but it has two kids as playable characters and they are annoying as fuck.

Other than those, maybe Dragon Age: Origins, though I've only played it on PC, and the Mass Effect series even if the third's ending is a huge letdown.

Tales of Vesperia.

Operation Darkness got pretty lousy scores: http://www.gamerankings.com/xbox360/929259-operation-darkness/articles.html

By idiot reviewers who lap up shit like Nintendogs. If you like SRPGs I'd highly recommend you play it.

JRPGS:
Eternal Sonata: Never played, and I've heard a whole range of opinions
Enchanted Arms is supposed to be a cult favorite
Star Ocean: Apparently has a cult following
Tales of Vesperia: Have heard very good things
Resonance of Fate: Played it. It's interesting and unique, but combat is complicated and hard as all fuck.
Lost Odyssey: I quit a few hours in after the "funeral part." The two lead characters are kind of interesting, but every other person got on my nerves.
Zeboyd games like Breath of Death VII, Cthulhu Saves the World, and Penny Arcade 3 are all funny little parody games with great battle systems.

WRPGS:
Dragon Age: Origins is very very good, but looks surprisingly bad next to the PC version.
Skyrim and Oblivion are both great, but I'd play Oblivion first since Skyrim is such a huge jump forward in comparison
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was a mess sales-wise, but I've heard really good things about it
The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition: Want to try it, as I've heard great things about the series
Divinity 2: Never played it, don't know anything about it
Gothic 4: Ditto
Dungeon Siege 3: Ditto
Risen 2: Ditto

Hybrids:
Borderlands 1/2: Shooters with 4 unique classes and a Diablo-style quest system and random item drop system. Also known for its unique art style and decent-to-very good writing.
Fallout 3/New Vegas: Exploration-based FPS RPGs with okay main quests, but lots of cool side quests and location-spelunking. If you get FO3, I highly recommend the Point Lookout DLC
Fable 2/3: These are sort of simplistic action-adventure games with very simplified stat systems. Most of the "role-playing" comes in form of building your character's reputation, lifestyle, and appearance.
Deus Ex: Invisible War got great reviews, with the caveat of boss fights. Apparently, developers outsourced the bosses out to another studio, who thought it'd just be another basic shooter. So while the rest of the game let you play stealth/pacifist, the boss fights actually required you to learn weapons. They're apparently releasing/have released a patch to fix this.
Alpha Protocol: Mixed reviews upon release, but has a solid cult following

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

A few not-so-great RPGs I liked that haven't been mentioned;

Final Fantasy XIII:The side missions near the end of the game were fun, but not sure it's worth going through the story to get to them.
Final Fantasy XIII-2: I thought the non-linearity and moster collecting were interesting.
Dragon's Dogma: This had some fantastic ideas and the best action-RPG combat I've ever seen, but a few problems hold it back. I'm hoping Capcom will make a sequel.
Nier: Actually one of my favorite 360 games, but it's impossible to explain why. (I can try if anyone wants me to) The graphics are terrible, the gameplay is dull and the game world is tiny but I loved every second of the experience.

I played these games until I got all the achievments, whereas I couldn't be bothered even finishing most of the more well recieved RPGs (I've played most of them).

I've been wanting to play Resonance of Fate ever since it came out, but I haven't seen it anywhere at a reasonable price yet.

I know, it's always really expensive, and I would have loved to have had an instruction manual instead of the shitty in-game word dump tutorials that it gives you.
