Remember when you guys got stuck in a game? Post about your game stuck stories here.

I got stuck in Blaster Master on the water level because the car couldn't swim. This was obviously a programming glitch and a severe oversight, so I removed the game from my top-loading NES emulator and deleted it.

I remember when I was stuck in Star Fox Adventures and then I beat it and never played it again because it was a contrived autism game.

Battletoads. Jet bike level.

Obvious examples aside, Shadowgate, in various places in the game. First it was the door in the first hallway, until we opened the skull above the first door. Then it was the wraith in the room after the bridges, until I read up on a game magazine that you're supposed to use the special torch. Then I got stuck in that mirror room because I didn't know how to get Key 3 from that skeleton in the lake, until I found out about the sphere...only to then get stuck in the next room...then I found out in another game mag that you have to use the sphere again.

...Let's just say it took me 10 years of nonconsecutive gameplay to finally beat that game.

Ninja Gaiden - Couldn't make it past the 3rd Level
Castlevania - Couldn't make it past the mummies (only got past Medusa 2 times)
SMB 1 - I made it to the final bridge and was killed by Bowser 2 times. I usually die in 8-3
SMB 3 - I can cheat and make it to world 8-2, but then I'm all done
TMNT - I don't remember how far I could get... but it usually ended shortly after the swimming level.
Prince of Persia Warrior Within - I can make it through 90% of the final boss battle, but the damn Wii version I have requires a gesture control for a speed kill, and I can't fucking do it. Never beat the game.
Final Fantasy VII - I have gotten to Sephiroth on 3 separate play throughs. I haven't cared enough to play through the end. I have seen it before when the game originally came out and I was hanging out with a friend in 1997. For some reason, I would save and say "I'll beat it later" and then just never would.

I'm ashamed to admit it beacuse it's one of my favorite games, but I have never got past Twin Tania in Final Fantasy V.

I thought I was the only one who did that! I get to the last save-point in Final Fantasy games and then never bother to play again. I haven't seen the ending of XII even though I've played through most of it twice.

Brace for long list. Half my game library as a kid was because of getting stuck. I was just generally not very good at video games. Though i've gotten significantly better my sister was worse at that age than i was and she hasn't improved at all:

I remember renting Gex: Deep Under Cover Gecko and getting stuck on the tutorial because of some double jump that had to be done and i just couldn't do it.

For years i was stuck in fighting games, especially Street Fighter because i could never do the special combos. To this day i struggle with some of the combos (i believe it's the power ones or something) - Blanka, Bison etc.

Final Fantasy VII, i was extremely under levelled for some reason. Way early in the game around Nibelheim couldn't defeat the Mansion boss - can't remember it's name - the one with the physical and magic sides. I'll forgive myself, it was my first JRPG.

Throughout the ages i have gotten lost in games, Resident Evil 2 and 3 are examples.

Stuck on Blues Brothers game - lost too many lives.

Super Mario Kart - to this day it is not completed. Me and a friend a year ago or so sat down and tried to beat 150cc. It is fucking impossible.

That's lost number, you didn't have to fight him. He's probably the hardest fight in the game if you try to beat him as soon as you can, although still a joke when you know what you're doing.

Final Fantasy X. Get to the final boss after grinding for hours because I knew I had spent more time playing Blitzball to get the Ultimate Weapon from it than I had leveling. Find I'm still so underleveled he one shots everyone no matter what. Never did get past that part because I gave up and I wasn't going to grind for weeks just to beat him when I could just watch youtube and find out what happened.

Dragon Quest VIII, pretty much the same thing as above. Final boss, severely underleveled, never beat the game because I got bored grinding.

Super Mario World, I'm not so good at platformers and I think I owned this game for 10+ years and never beat it without the Game Genie. I'd get stuck at one of the castles and lose all my lives, it got annoying. Then again I was a lot younger and it might be easier for me now, I've just had no desire to try it lately.

I got stuck in Resident Evil 6 trying to get Chris to punch over the boulder. I'm completely serious. I couldn't mash the A button fast enough to get him to do it. Sad

Speaking of Resident Evil, I remember it took me 40 tries or so to beat Krauser on Professional difficulty in RE4.

I remember being stuck in the giant painting puzzle in Resident Evil Code: Veronica X when I was eleven or so, something about the file in the game not explaining it well enough or something. I never got past that part until I was allowed to use the internet two years later and I looked up a walkthrough.

I've never beaten the original Castlevania because I've never been able to get past the part in Level 4 with the owls and the mini men that jump around all over the place. I'm pretty pathetic. Sad

Shadowgate was another early one; I got the game when I was six but I didn't figure out until I was maybe nine or so that you can move the torch on the wall in the room with the arrow to find a secret passage. After that the game was pretty much a breeze.

Oh, and when I was thirteen and played Silent Hill 3 for the first time, I was stuck at the room where Heather first gets the handgun and kills the first monster. Why? The TV I had at the time was so dark I literally couldn't see the back door out of the room; the back wall was just a brown-green smudge. A year later I got a new TV and it's like I could see the world anew.

Final Fantasy X - Yunalesca. She mopped the floor with me six times (especially her third form where I think she casts an instant-death spell) before I gave up entirely and went back and leveled up a bunch. I think I tried fighting her seven or eight more times before I eventually just stopped and leveled up Yuna until she learned Holy and obliterated Yunalesca just from using that.

TMNT on the NES - Got stuck for almost 3 hours in Level 3 trying to figure out how to use the fucking grappling hook.

Castlevania on the NES: It was a rare occasion that I could actually beat Frankenstein and Igor back in the day, and I think combined my brother and I only beat Death like three times prior to 1992.

SMB1: 8-1 was my mortal enemy for the longest time. I would play the level EXTREMELY cautiously and always get the warning sound and the faster music. The part I almost always screwed up on was that part where there's the jump with that one piece of ground in the middle of the pit. I would always panic and screw up. And if I made it past that, I'd die trying to jump up to the flagpole. Now that shit is NOTHING to me.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. The opening to that game was so fucking stupid that I couldn't continue playing.

Frankenstein and Igor can suck my Grandma's hairy balls. Even though I've beaten Castlevania 1 twice, I still manage to get stuck on the Death level. Forget Death itself, that entire level is fucking annoying.

I used to always get stuck in Star Fox with the Great Commander. Then I remembered to save all my damn nova bombs. It was like that with the legs version of Phantron too.

dragon warrior III - i got to zoma or whatever the final final boss is and just left my save there. never went back to it & i no longer have that GBC game.

grand theft auto III Vice City & San Andreas - corrupted save file that wont load. and it usually happens around the last 2 or 3 story missions of the games. so annoying

Not everything. Particularly not action platformers like Castlevania. You suck at Duck Hunt.

From what I've read, the PC version of FF7 apparently had problems with battle speed and xp scaling, so that you'd need to be a robot that ground materia for hours on end to have an easy time with it. I got stuck at the Temple of the Ancients wall boss and Materia Keeper boss multiple times each, requiring restarts. I didn't beat the game for about a year after playing it.

I would always quit and lose interesting in Chrono Trigger around the time of that future sky city with the blue-haired kids. I'd keep trying to play the game over a period of about two years where I had almost no time for games, and would forget what happened in the game up to that point.

I had a character in Morrowind that I put countless hours into, then got lost in the Tribunal's sewer system just trying to find something for a quest. I've felt bad keeping my Argonian warrior in those sewers for years now, but I just got so turned off by that section.

Not particularly at the game itself, but i most have tried to defeat the 5 colossi in SotC on hard time attack for 5 hours or so. I can still not imagine how to beat him.

Broken Sword 1 on PS1. I got stuck really long, for about a week or something on that stupid scene were you have to get past the goat. I bought a strategy guide just because of that.

FF VIII. I never managed to beat the final boss, Artemesia or what's it called. I just tried it 2-3 times and gave up.

Axelay for Snes, also at the final boss. It's just awfully hard to beat and i never felt like going through this whole game.

I also remember getting stuck in that Goemon Game for N64 at the first Robot Boss Battle because i didn't use one of the major game mechanics that you desperatly need to beat any boss in that game. Appearently you can shoot a hook to get your enemy near you and punch the shit out of him but i didn't know that so i waited for this brief moment, only a second long or so, when he gets near you and you are able to attack him. This made the fight incredibly hard and long. But i finally managed to defeat him somehow. God how i hate that game right now.

I've only beaten the original Castlevania once, every other time before, and since, I get killed by Frankenstein's monster or Death.

I've never beaten the end bosses of Ninja Gaiden (his second form with the homing projectiles Evil Evil Evil ) or Strider.

I still haven't beaten the damned Vice City 'hire-getaway-driver' mission.... I hate it...so very much.

And I can barely make any progress in the Xbox Ninja Gaiden. I don't have quick enough reflexes anymore. Confused

Forgot about Vice City. Never finished the game because of the frustrating controls and that mission where you're supposed to save that black guy.

Oh yeah, Strider is though. It took some time and memorizing to get through the final stage and also a little bit of luck to beat the final boss.

Ninja Gaiden is just impossible. I never could complete the final stage. Those damn Jet-Pack Ninjas -shakes fist into heaven-

Beavis and Butthead - the part with the fishing line. No matter how many times I pump the damn button, I can never reel in whatever I'm supposed to be reeling in...

Sonic 3 - those spinning things in Carnival Night Zone. It took me years to find out that you can actually move those things while you're standing on them.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out - Me and my brothers could never get past Piston Honda and had to use whatever codes we could find on game magazines to fight the other opponents. We just sucked at that game.
