That was great. Although I'm really, really, really sick of watching 20-somethings play 40+ year-olds. Really sick of it.

That just the natural progression of things DarkMaze. The 90's were all about 30 year olds playing teens, now the YouTube generation has turned the tables.

I don't really like either one, but I can live with 30-somethings playing younger characters.

The problem with kids playing adults is that they suck at it. Theatre lends itself well to that kind of thing, but movies of any variety absolutely do not. It murders the illusion. What makes me extra mad is when they could easily have written the parts for people their own age, but simply didn't.

That's my rant du jour.

I was typecast in High School. I always got the older roles, because I had a deep voice and could grow a full beard. I never got the young stud roles...

Like when we did the Dining Room, my roles were: "Father", "Grandfather", and "Earl", who was an old man who was about to die.

And, when we did "The Boys Next Door", I was the One armed, alcoholic, abusive father. (Though that role was fun, becasue it's great to play the bad guy.)

I was the Baker and Gaston in our Elementary School remake of Beauty and the Beast. I was almost the beast but some Black Kid beat me out for it because he was good at being angry and he was already brown...

I was the gingerbreadman in grade 2.

You know, that Mega Man villian that throws festively decorated houses at you?

Not the killer one that was voiced by Gary Busey?

It always used to be in those Scholastic/Arrow book order forms they gave us in school and my mom would never let me get it because it looked "stupid". Then one day I finally took it out of library and it was everything I had hoped it would be.
