An actual sequel, not Revengeance.

About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things...There will be much question of infiltration, espionage and convince people to give you "a favor" in the last MGS. I liked the idea of social interactions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution but we'll see. And if I was saying, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door I carve up into pieces. So better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5. |
It is said to use some new graphics engine called FOX Engine and it will implement dialogue branches, but little else is known so far.

Super excitement. I love the MGS Series so very much. The Codec is my ringtone and I even have a FOX HOUND Special Forces T-Shirt.

I always love more MGS. I'm wondering, though, where the story is going to go from here? Considering they tied up pretty much every loose end ever in the series in MGS4.

Damnit. I hate when a well ended series gets revived. I love these games, but the ending was fantastic and it was a good place to let go. Is this really necessary?

Didn't Snake die in MGS4? Is this gonna be some Crank 2 bullshit?

He didn't die yet. He still had six months or so to go. I hope this game's plot is exactly six months long.
It could also end up being more Big Boss-related filler. It's still too early to say.

Bumping because this may or may not be a sequel.

Among the flurry of news emerging from the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event in Japan, the most exciting is series creator Hideo Kojima's reveal of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Reports from Twitter users (via Joystiq) seem to confirm that the Solid Snake-starring stealth game features open world play, falling in line with what Kojima teased previously as Project Ogre.
Attendees describes gameplay involving a rainy nighttime scene, with Snake sneaking his way into an enemy compound while avoiding search lights and guards. He eventually drives off in a jeep and summons in a helicopter, all in the same seamless environment. Ground Zeroes isn't announced for any specific platforms yet -- the demo apparently ran on a high-end PC -- but it will serve to debut Kojima Productions' Fox Engine. |

Judging by Snake's suit (I think that's the Foxhound logo on his right shoulder), I'm guessing it's going to take place after MGS3 & Peace Walker within the series storyline. Though, it could also theoretically take place between MGS2 and MGS4.

I hope the trailers and ads feature Snake, but the actual game is again mostly played with Raiden. Just because it would make the internet mad. Again. MGS2 was the best fuck you in gaming history. And I honesty like Raiden. Even if he wore high-heels in MGS4.
