I recently started playing Rollercoaster Tycoon again and had the idea of doing a collab project with it.
Each participant would have the park for a certain amount of time (probably a couple years or so), before passing the save file along to the next person. Rather than recording us playing, we could simply save some screenshots and update this thread every once in a while.
I'd like to get a feel for how many people would be interested in such a project, I haven't worked out any specifics, but I think if enough people get involved, we could have a lot of fun with this. I also realize we'd be limited by how many people own the game. If you don't own it, it probably costs less than $10, and it is not a very large game so if you wish to obtain it in another manner, it probably wouldn't be too hard to do so.

This isn't something that needs to be started right away, especially with the forum battle and UsaSatsui's Zelda collab going on, so feel free to throw out any ideas or suggestions if you're interested. None of this is set in stone yet Smile

I am definitely in. You can get the deluxe edition on gog which i would definitely get because RC1 can have compatibility issues.

However would it be in a scenario or an empty park? An empty park has no real challenge, so what scenario would it be?

Also, using the expansion packs?

I really wasn't sure. I was thinking we could create our own scenario, or just pick one of the scenarios with a bigger map. Or we could do something to the nature of each person building a specific section of the park. For example, each person could try to best the previous person's income or number of guests. Alternatively, we could compete for the best park ratings, try to make the highest rated roller coaster, or who can torture guests in the most sadistic way possible.
Expansion packs could be included, too, we'd just need to decide what version we'd be using ahead of time. I'm thinking if many people want to participate, but lack the funds, I can probably put together an archive with the needed software. It's just a matter of finding a site to temporarily host it on so it is available, which shouldn't be too hard.
