Part of the on-going series of how my roommates are douche bags.
I've had enough, I'm fucking moving out. Let me lay out the events of the past couple weeks for you guys; Bout two weeks ago, I have Tuesday off and in my travels from my room to the fridge for a soda, I see a paper stuck in our door. Closer examination reveals it to be an eviction notice for 1,600 FUCKING DOLLARS! Apparently, we were two months behind on rent and I never even fucking knew! The way our bill paying situation goes is, I give my roommates a hundred bucks a week to divide over whatever needs to get paid, mainly because I get paid a day before one of them so they usually end up paying the bills then. Or so I thought. When I asked them basically why the fuck are we sixteen HUNDRED fucking dollars behind, I got completely bullshit answers like "We're not in charge of your money" and "You borrowed $30 and $40 a bunch of times and never paid it back." Bullshit. I took money out of what they had saved of mine maybe three times in the last two months and I PAID IT BACK EVERY TIME. The only time in the last two months I DIDN'T give them $100 was the week I got a flat and it took a hundred to fix it. So, roughly $900 bucks still between the two months, easily enough to pay my $230 share of rent and cover my share of every other fucking bill we have, but no. Somehow, this is my fault. On top of that, my female roommate is pregnant and turning more insane by the day from it. Now, I might note here that I already spend 98.9% of my time in my room since I long ago moved all my stuff in there from her passive aggressive bullshit and now I only leave to go to the fridge, my bathroom, or the front door. So now, I got yelled at the other day for not taking my shoes off at the door. My clean, dry shoes. That I wore as I crossed the literal four feet of carpet in the two seconds it takers me to get to my room. Oh and then on Friday I got a bitchy, passive aggressive message from her on FB telling me that the Comcast bill was due and I better deal with that. She told me the day it was due. Not weeks before, because they have the only mail key and could have checked earlier, the day it's due. And this too, is somehow my fault. So today she tells me that they paid it off, I owe 76 bucks and they're "not covering for me next time." I am biting my lip so god damned hard to keep from exploding, it's practically bleeding.
So, I'm moving the fuck out, I've had enough. I'm getting my car back to street legal and looking on Craigslist and when I move out, I am never speaking to either of these fucking spineless, lazy, worthless shitbags ever again.
Just thought you guys would like to know

Geez! I thought you'd moved away from them already. Or is this a new batch of the same breed of roommates?

That remains to be seen, I'm going to tell the store manager today that I have a conflict of interest.

Yeah dude, you need to find some friends who have common interests and try and get a place with them, if not something by yourself even if you can swing it. You will not be able to live there after they have a kid.

BZ will still have common interests with them after they have the kid. For example: not taking care of the kid.

... Even if you didn't pay back $200 there's no way in hell you should be $1,600 behind on rent. That says they're just blowing your money away

^That's what I thought when I read it. "Okay, that's great, but where are the other $1400?"

See, I feel like I live in some sort of Bizarro world because everyone I tell this story to says "Wow, they're basically robbing you." but whenever I bring it up with THEM, it's "It's your fault for not paying enough."
She's also paranoid about mold killing her and her baby so she was bitching at me today about how I have to clean my bathroom (which is nowhere near anywhere they go and they never use it as they have their own) and she went on to say that my male roommate would "control" it if he had to. Which made me fucking laugh because they are not my parents, nor my landlord, I'm pretty sure it's ILLEGAL for them to try to physically prevent me from going in the bathroom I pay a fucking share of the rent to use. I'm prepared to get first the landlord then the fucking cops down here the moment he tries to stop me. Also, are they providing the cleaning supplies? Because I sure as fuck don't have any and since they're SSSOOOOOOOO concerned with me paying the bills they "covered" me for, I'm sure they wouldn't want me spending money on such frivolous things as cleaning supplies! Not when I never pay a single bill as it is and steal money from them!
God, I HATE these two...
Also, "I Hope You Die" by Bloodhound Gang is my anthem right now.

Dude, just make every effort to get out of there. Find friends, family, anywhere that you can go and split the bills with.

I emailed about half a dozen people on Craigslist looking for roommates/having rooms for rent this morning, got a couple responses but haven't gone to see any of them yet. Keep in mind fellas, I have about $1800 myself that my dickhead roommates don't know about that my grandmother left me, so I can afford to move instantaneously pretty much. The only thing I have to hang around for is getting my car registered, inspected and fixed up, mostly just because I couldn't find my damned title so I have to wait for a duplicate to be mailed to me, which is like a week. But I'm still going to be looking at apartments in between, don't worry. I want fucking out of here and by God, I shall have it...

BZ, might I suggest Mobile, Alabama? I have a friend who lived in his own place down there. Beautiful 2 bedroom 1000 square feet, free heat/hot water, for $580/month. Of course... you would have to live in Mobile, Alabama...

Everything's so much cheaper away from the big cities. Many of us could move to southern Missouri and live like gods.

Well then, might I suggest you rent a parking spot and put one of these on it?

Keep in mind that any of the big cities worth living in also have higher standards of living and (relatively) higher paying jobs. Or, that's how my parents say it is. I wouldn't know for sure, never having lived on my own. Compromise and live near a big city but far enough away that you don't have to deal with city things constantly.
More seriously, I hope you get out of there ASAP BZ. That sounds a little like hell, actually.

Mostly true, but there are ways you can scam the system if you don't care about what the climate is.
1. Get a good job in a major city
2. Get transferred to a city with a lower cost of living
3. Move outside of the city but make sure you have a direct line of transport via highway, train, etc.

I compared where I lived in Brookline, MA to Houston TX... ridiculous.
In BZ's case, I hear that Worcester, MA is still cheap to live in. At least you would be back in MA.

Apartment for rent right now in our building, 1 bedroom decent size, for $475 a month. Downside - you live in Fitchburg.
