If you haven't heard, it's been announced that Terraria will no longer receive any content updates and the game is officially finished.

One of the Devs wanted to continue the experience along with a new team and make it space themed. It's called Starbound.

The game begins with the main player escaping his home planet shortly after it is destroyed by an unknown enemy. The escape pod wanders aimlessly through space, but luckily, it crashes in an abandoned space station. According to Lead Developer Finn "Tiy" Brice, players will be tasked with repairing this station and bringing it back to life whilst investigating those behind the homeworld attack.

Planets are randomly generated on which the space pod lands on. These will have very unique features to them, each one having a different theme of planet from the next. They will have codes, or coordinates, that are generated with the world. If these coordinates are given out, they can allow a player to visit another player's planet. Each planet is planned to be unique, with different types of terrain that appears, procedurally generated foliage, weather, day/night cycles, gravity levels, enemy appearance and behaviour, materials, color of materials and foliage, and various backdrops.

Scheduled to release sometime this summer.

I heard about this just recently, definitely interested to see how it turns out. Looks like a great successor to Terraria.

Terraria put my face on a few milk cartons when I first grabbed it. I'm really interested in this.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Looks pretty promising. I might have to look further into this when it comes out.

I'm gonna become a game developer and write Tsarbound.

The game begins with the main player escaping his house shortly after it is destroyed by capitalist pigs. He wanders aimlessly through the tundra, but luckily, he finds an abandoned Soviet time machine and travels back in time. Players will be tasked with poisoning Peter the Great in order to take his place whilst investigating the worsening vodka shortage.

I'd buy and play that.
