Resident Evil 4 was like one big escort mission! What's more terrifying than that?

At least 4 did have a horror element to it.

....and look at Silent Hill. I watched a LP of Downpour, it was terrible. The enemies were just dirty looking guys.

On a different note however:

OH BOY, CAN'T WAIT FOR THESE FORGETTABLE CHARACTERS.

Like Fat Princess and Big Daddy. They aren't terrible characters but they aren't exactly "good" characters either. Nor are they in any way rememberable.

Big Daddy is okay, but Sony is ALREADY dipping into third party characters? Not a good sign.

True actually! I forgot about Amnesia and there are others too. I guess it's just the classics which are turning into more action horror than survival horror.

I liked the co-op aspect of Dead Space 3 i saw. On saying that i've only played 33minutes of the first game - i really need to remedy this!

I knew from the get go that they'd have to really reach deep to fill a cast for that Playstation Battle Royale game. I never really thought Sony had their own cast of characters like Nintendo has. I thought these games just happened to be on Playstation.

I wish Nintendo would create a "normal" system that could play all the same multi-platform games as the other systems. I know that's not what Nintendo has been about the last few generations, and that the route they've taken has brought them a lot of success (recently, with the Wii). I just haven't had an interest in anything they've done since the SNES. None of it has been for me. That said, I'd love to have a Nintendo system sitting on my shelf, rather than a Microsoft or Sony product. When Nintendo has their shit together, they can do it better than anyone. With Sony's troubles lately, maybe we'll eventually see Nintendo go head to head with Microsoft in another generation or so.

that was my thought process as well.

the game still looks like it could be a blast, so im not dismissing it yet.

Yeah, I'm not knocking the game either. Looks like it delivers what it promises. I was just surprised that they were touting their IP's like this, like they thought they might be as iconic as Nintendo's lineup. Then again, I'm not familiar with most of these characters so maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention.

I recognized most of the characters but noticed that Crash was missing. You'd think he'd be in a Playstation All-Stars game even if he hasn't had a new game in a while. If anything it would give them an excuse to bring back the series.

I didn't see him whining. You've done this with me a few times too, told me I was whining when I was disagreeing with you about a game or series you hold dear. It's not whining if it's just a persons opinion. That said, I don't agree with the process of just pouring over LP's instead of playing a game, that I agree with, though I know Alow isn't that kind of person. It's not hard to even see a few minutes of a game and see that it's not up to the standards of previous games, or any game.

It's always preferable to give the company some money and try the game out for yourself, sure. But even as far back as Nintendo power days, I could see a preview of a game before they even rated or reviewed it and no that it was gonna be shit and not for me.

Then don't. You CALLED ME OUT on this. I just said it was terrible and you went on about me whining. If i say it is terrible then that's what i think. The only reason i change any of my posts is because i feel like i am being overly harsh or have more to say and don't want to flood the thread with extra posts, hence the edit button. I don't like shitting on anyone on this forum but i feel that it was totally unnecessary replying to me. You could have not respected my opinion without saying anything to me about this. I even said i will play this eventually and you could have left it there but you didn't you just went on.

EDIT: I don't even dislike the franchise. I just watched what i thought was a bad game in comparison to the rest of the series that i've played. If you like the franchise and liked the game then FINE.

It's not like i sat down and went "oh look the new Silent Hill, i'll just watch these Let's Players play it, form a shit opinion of it and never buy it myself".

Yeah it is a bit strange. His last game was 2008 actually, i was surprised it was that close. I remember Activision was making a new one and they cancelled it. Concept art looked pretty good.

I haven't seen the full roster (i'm not even sure if there is one) but Sony characters i think just don't work well. I'm even wondering why is Big Daddy there, it's not even a PS3 exclusive game (Bioshock) being on Xbox360 and PC. How is that then a Sony Allstar? Strange. Honestly i won't pick it up anyway. Haven't even finished Brawl yet.
