Here is where we can talk about what will happen, what you want or don't want to happen and what DOES happen after this years E3.
Nintendo better impress me or I'll rape planets. I'm expecting a lot and just hope to not be let down. I have moderate high hopes for the Wii U and the rest of the 3DS life cycle, and want to be surprised.
Microsoft won't probably be any different than last year, lots of flailing goofy kids saying "awesome" or spokesmen treating us like we're stupid.
Sony I can't see really doing anything to wow me, maybe some new IP's or the release of a shitload more PS1 Classics on the store.
Also apparently the whole thing will be broadcast live on SpikeTV for those that don't wanna watch it streaming. Nintendo's presentation starts at 12pm on Tuesday, I expect Microsoft and Sony will follow suit the following 2 days.

My hopes:
-New Zelda, I'd imagine it'd be on the 3DS
-Mega Man 11 or Mega Man X9
-Final Fantasy XV (even though I don't play them anymore, I still get curious enough to see the new titles and see how much worse they can ruin it)
-Nintendo announces they are abandoning the tablet for the WiiU and decides to use a controller
-Nintendo announces a name change for the WiiU
-A crazed mad man goes on a killing spree and kills 50+ people
-Dreamcast 2

If that is real, then that is too funny. They even try to say that the project began with the codename Versus XIII. I call major horse shit on that. Seems pretty lazy to slap a numbered sequel onto a game that was announced 6 years ago. The main character looks metrosexual and angsty enough to be a FF protagonist so I'm inclined to believe this.

Heh if that video is true at least the game won't only be on the Wii U. I'll probably play it, even though the last two have played themselves practically, and I don't want to buy the Wii U to do so. Though I'll consider it if they announce that they are abandoning that stupid tablet thing in favor of a real controller.
I'd like to see some info on the next gen systems from Sony and Microsoft myself since I have to imagine they will launch them in the next couple years now that the Wii U is coming out soon. I have no interest in buying Microsoft's next console after I made the mistake of buying the broken ass 360 at launch, but I'll be interested in what they do with it. I might even reconsider if they announce it will let you play online for free, though I doubt that will ever happen.
I'd also like to see a new Half-Life revealed.

I was about to make a post about how that looked really familiar then I saw you beat me to it. That does seem really lazy.
Other than Resident Evil 6, I can't really think of any games I'm looking forward to, so I'm really up for anything at this point.

If you watch it with the closed caption, the guy says the game started with the code name Versus XIII. It seems to imply that it's been FFXV all along and they're now just telling anyone. So they want us to believe that FFXV was revealed before they even released FFXII? I call shenanigans.
Still, I think the video is fake. Looks like it was filmed in a school classroom. These people don't look like the type that would be invited to a super secret reveal. If it turns out to be real, then everything I said before still stands.

Apparently a lot of big names pulled out of the conferences this year, which is disappointing, because I really wanted to get some details from THQ on Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2. I think E3 will ultimately be attended less and less and lose out to GDC and PAX. It just strikes me as more of a dick-measuring than an actual industry conference.

Be that as it may. Nintendo always shows off their coolest shit at E3, and that's where a majority of my interest lies.

Versus XIII looked like it had the potential to be a good game, so I'll be interested to see where they take XV. That said, the franchise hasn't released a truly great game since IX came out.
I just want more promo material for Bioshock Infinite and to get a peak at whatever Super Smash Bros. game that Nintendo is working on next. Not that it hugely matters. I won't throw in with Nintendo again until I see some signs of third party support of the new console.

This was confirmed today during Nintendo Direct:
I'm glad we have an alternative to the tablet, honestly. I knew they wouldn't force people to use that thing. I dunno, I'll have to hold it in my hands before I judge it.

So, Sega went from light fondling to full on gobbling on Nintendo and designed their controller? xD
It looks weird, but it may handle well. Trading the position of the analog controllers and the buttons is what weirds me out the most about it.

Well that is good, makes me think that I might seriously consider buying the system now. Looks like a 360 controller with the right analog stick and the buttons swapped with each other. Hopefully it isn't like the Wii Classic Controller and works with more than a handful of games.

That is kind of wierd but I could see adjusting to it. I remember the Gamecube controller seeming wierd to me because the D-pad was in a wierd spot but it turned out to not be an issue.
I can't imagine the controller being usable for all games though. That tablet does too much that can't be substituted. Plus they aren't going to spend all the time and resources making the tablet just to have it be optional.

The real question is if anyone will be able to adjust to that freaky layout. If nothing else I look forward to using it on my computer for emulation.
Also the Gamecube D-pad is the worst one I've ever used.

I'm kind of surprised everyone did the not surprising thing and became weird-ed out by the button placement. If you think about it logically, when playing a game that heavily uses both sticks for movement/camera, it makes more sense to have the stick moved up to a comfortable position. You only need to move down to the buttons for quick tasks, like reloading, jumping or accessing menus. Also, if we're able to play NES/SNES type games on the system like the Wii, then having both the D-Pad and the face buttons on the same level makes much more sense. It will take some time to get used to, but with every new system, comes new controllers to get used to.

I have trouble using any D-pad on the bottom half so I just eventually revert to analog. I just can't adjust. I can't imagine having to not do the same with the buttons, unless twin stick games make a come back in a huge way.

It's really not that wierd if you think about it. The layout is exactly like a PS3 controller except the place for the buttons and the place for the analog sticks is switched. I'd imagine you'd just alternate your thumbs as needed just as you would with the PS3.

Yeah I really don't mind the layout that much. The 360 controller isn't my favorite but it works well enough, and this really does look very similar to it so I can't imagine needing to adjust to it very much. It seems to be a little thinner than a wireless 360 controller too which might be nice, plus it looks like has a built in rechargeable battery like the PS3 controllers which I really like. Never have those fucking AAs on hand when a controller dies.

i dig it. it does look like a 360 controller and i dont mind the 360 controller. i hope the shoulder buttons are more responsive than the 360 ones though. i hate those bumper buttons.
