There may be little news out of Japan during Golden Week, but that doesn't mean that North Americans will go without their Japanese gaming fix. Atlus USA just revealed that Persona 4 Golden for the PlayStation Vita will be released in the region during Fall 2012.
Not only have the game's visuals been remastered for the Vita's screen, but the game also boasts one and a half times the original's voiced dialogue. There is no word yet if all the voice actors will be returning for this release, as the fighting game Persona 4 Arena features new actors for some characters. Golden also features a new online feature where players can call for assistance when near death in a dungeon. Further expanding the game, Atlus is including new Personas, new story scenes, a new character, new anime cutscenes, a new intro, and a new song from Shoji Meguro.
=======================================================================
To clarify, yes this is news about the Japanese release of the game (has Arena even come out over here?) Well, I know for a fact that Igor's VA passed away earlier this year so if there's any new dialogue for him it'll require a replacement. This would be one of the games to motivate me to get a Vita.

P4 Arena is coming out for home consoles in America and Japan in August. The Japanese arcade release was March.

I'm kinda annoyed on how they milk the Persona franchise, especially P3 and P4. I mean how many version do i need of one game? Aren't 4 enough? No? We need 5? Atlus can go fuck itself.

Well, we're probably going to need another version of P4 because the Vita is a complete fail.

They could use the money to blow our minds with Persona 5 but no, we need another sligthly changed version of P4.
It reminds me of Capcom and "Super Street Fighter 2", making fools of their costumers by updating the game just a tiny but and throwing it on the market for the full price.
I really like the Persona games and Atlus as a company but this is bullshit. Persona 4 is a huge game with tons of content. You play it 100+ if you want to unlock everything. Why do i need a truckload of version of such kind of game? It's just cheap and puts Atlus in a different light.

It's because the people actually wanted this, unlike Super Street Fighter. Recall that the director's exact words were, "There will not be a FES version of Persona 4." This technically isn't a FES, but I see very few dissenters for it.

I don't care if anybody wanted P4 for the Vita, i just don't think that 3 or more slightly changed version of one and the same game are necessary.

It's only a matter of time before Atlus fans get it. Until then, Persona 4 Arena! Yay!

I just don't want Atlus to lose track. They make great RPGs and it would be a shame if they focus more on money than on making quality videogames.

Persona 4 at 60 FPS sounds like quality to me.

I don't think it speaks for a company if it releases one and the same game 10 times.

I don't blame them, it is clearly working or they'd quit doing it. Nothing different than what a lot of companies do really, make minor improvements to a product for almost no cost then market it as "new and improved" to milk more money out of it. I actually kind of respect them for doing smart business, if there is demand you keep the supply going and use the money generated on an already developed product to develop your next.
Plus a lot of video games do it anyway so it isn't like it is a new thing in the industry. How many versions of each Street Fighter game are there? What about Pokemon which hasn't really seen any really major changes since something like Gen 2 or 3? How many times has Nintendo re-released the various early Mario games? There's no reason for them to not re-release if it is a new system and people want to have it for that system. Plus, something has to try to float the Vita or that thing is going to die. Hell, as it stands its chances of beating the 3DS as anything more than a paper weight are very slim.

There should be a hard limit for the number of re-releases a game can have that resets after two generations.

Looks awesome and apparently there's going to be a new social link. I'm pretty sure World is the only arcana without a social link from P4.
