Instead of another list, here's a simple survey question: what games have you been playing recently?
Current addiction - Kirby: Canvas Curse (DS)
Also playing:
Sonic Gems Collection (GC)
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES)

Yes! That was one of my faves... till it got stolen. So, question: which sidekick do you prefer? I like Grant the best due to his wicked wall-climbing ability.

Grant was my favorite of the sidekicks because wall climbing is the shit, but I always got Alucard because I thought his flight was essential; when I was younger I wasn't as good at identifying obvious patterns in falling blocks.

They'e all good for different reasons. Grant's wall-climbing ability is damn fun, Sypha's magic attacks are sick, and Alucard is just plain awesome.
I usually just take a new partner whenever I'm offered one.

I'm not a huge Everquest fan, but those are all excellent choices. I haven't played WOW but the people I know who DO play it are absolutely addicted to it. I know they're not entirely comparable, but how would rate EQ2 against WOW?

Games I've been playing:
Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II (GC)
Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron III (GC)
James Cameron's Dark Angel (PS2)
Alias (PS2 - and not really that much)
I've also been playing
GTA Vice City (PS2) a lot about a couple of weeks ago.
Various fighting roms which I delete after 24 hours (except Streets of Rage 3 which I own and legally can have). I just love button mashers.

As for customizability,EQ2 is supirior all the way, with tons of class and job choices and all the different races. it also has a finley tuned battle system that lets you make choices quickly,
But,overall,i like Wow more. The Sieges, and items, all of it is great. its a great experience and has EPIC pvp battles when you get big groups of 50+ people on your side verses roughly the same amount. they can go on for hours and you will never be able to stop untill its over.

Right now I'm playing:
Azure Dreams (PS1)
Theme Hospital (PC)
Worms Armageddon (PC)
Harley's Humoungus Adventure (SNES)
But mostly Azure Dreams. That game kicks ass.

Right now I'm replaying Half-Life 1 because it's the standard by which all FPS's should be judged. i'm also going back through Metroid Prime 2 and Splinter Cell. Eventually I'll borrow/steal my friend's copy of Hlaf-Life 2 and play that.

My gaming goes like this right now:
Syberia (PC). Got it for $10 and I miss point-and-click adventures. I haven't touched it in a few days, though.
ICO (PS2). I didn't give this game a fair shake when it first came out. I found it at BJ's for $12.99 this past Sunday and had to buy it. Now I see the light: Great. Fucking. Game.
Advance Wars DS (DS). I pick this up every now and again to dig into a battle. Fact is, I suck at it, and battles can take FOREVER, but that's a good thing.
Nintendogs (DS). Another "pick up now and again" title. I check in every evening to feed/walk/play with my puppy and then move onto something else.
Pokemon Emerald (GBA). The first Pokemon game I've really kept going with. I still snicker when I give my creatures stupid/gross names (sigh).
Burnout Legends (PSP). Finally. Finally, finally, finally. A PSP game worth playing that ISN'T Lumines or Wipeout Pure. Yes, it's PSP and yes it's EA, so it should redefine "evil', but I have a soft spot for this series.
Resident Evil 4 (GCN). I play it for an hour or so, then put it down for a while. Don't get me wrong... it's a great game. And I know I'm committing the worst kind of blasphemy by saying this, but I kind of miss the more confined "I'm running out of ammo and can't find a save spot" tension of the original RE games. This one feels a little too much like an all-out shooter at times. But yeah, it's still a "GOTY" candidate.

Lately I've been saturating time into my GBA with Mega Man Battle Network 5 Colonel. I've done pretty much everything possible except get the Bass icon by beating BassEX and the 4,000 hit point version of the final boss for the main game.
Before that, I focused on Metroid Prime. I'd done everything possible except I just could not get past the Omega Pirate on hard mode. I got sick enough of it I traded it in.
Imagine my shock when I found out that Spartan Total Warrior didn't give the shaft to GameCube. It really looks like something I'd like to play.
I'm tired of the Cube getting passed up by designers. Case in point Lego Star Wars...for some odd reason it came out for every current system out there except for the Cube (it comes out in November I believe). Another point would the Budokai games. The Cube got the first one by the time the second one was out on PS2. Now obviously since my internet grammar is pretty accurate, you can tell I'm not a rabid fan of the show. It's something of a correlary between the worse your grammar is, the more likely it is you've been watching DB/Z/GT (of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong). I'm just tired of feeling left out of all the good games, like decent RPGs. I hear Tales of Symphonia is pretty worthwhile though.
I'm sorry that turned into a rant (the Dennis Miller reference was just to be funny).

Tales of Symphonia is indeed pretty good as is Namco's other RPG, Baiten Kaitos. I really like Baiten's fighting system because it's pretty different. I, too, am pissed at how companies shaft Nintendo. Midway made GC owners wait for Mortal Kombat: Deception, but luckily that was worth the wait because they added in Goro & Shao Kahn. Unfortunately, they aren't giving us Shaolin Monks which really sucks. The fact that Lego Star Wars never got a GC release is mindboggling. Nintendo is unfortunately still considered to be a "kiddie system" by a lot of horrible bastards out there, so I don't see why a developer would pass up on the chance to bring Lego Star War's fun-for-all-ages action to the 'cube.

I'm playing Black & White 2 (which I would only suggest to people after a patch or two, I broke down a wall with my creature and my game froze.)
And Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (Free FPS that's pretty damn fun, think Battlefield 2 without vehicles you can drive, but just as good.)

I'd thought I'd resurrect this old, old thread, just for icks.
Anyway, I'm poor, so I have to resort to emulation most of the time.
I'm playing irem's Image Fight on PC engine (right now), it was basically the next generation successor to R-Type.
Also, River City Ransom EX, and Rockman and Forte (SNES). I should also mention Sega's My Hero for arcade, one of the first beat 'em ups ever made.

Cracked french version of C&C Zero Hour. Of course, I can't play online (can't download patch). I suck anyway.
I also play a french Worms Armageddon that bugs the graphics. After some time, the worms become red, purple and yellow.

RandomFarthead, I wonder if you were joking or out of your mind when you said that NFL Blitz sucked. I spent a lot of time in the arcade back then just beating everyone in that. I am a beast in 2000...

Wow, another person that's heard of Schbibinman... You tried Schbibinman Zero for SNES, or 3 for PC engine?
And there's a game similar to Gyruss called Falsion that kicks 10 types of ass. Make sure your NES emu supports Disk System games, though.
