I lost my mugen folder in a horrible accident involving an external hard drive and a fucked up character, which means I had to redo everything. I figured I'd do it all organized now, but I don't have as much as I used to (Yet). I reckon I'll post my select.def for the mugen savvy. Maybe it'll give some of you guys some ideas.

I built a system for finding characters and stuff so that I can use the search function in notepad. every section has a code and every character is numbered. subsections are labeled but not coded (can't be getting TOO complex now). I was also going to split the stages up into categories, but I didn't find that nessecary beyond "super jump" and "no super jump".

I'm also using only music in .ogg format this time, as it's supposed to make everything load smoother, and I'm doing away with the "sound" folder. System songs are in the "Data" folder and stage music is in the "Stages" folder, labeled the same as the stage for quick access.

let me know if you see anything you're interested in and I'll upload it to THI for ya.

http://www.tehinter.net/uploads/mugen/select.txt

yes, all of the "CharaName ; [ABC123]" slots are waiting to be filled. my select is capable of holding ten thousand characters.

It's a fan-made fighting engine with a customizable roster. It supports not only hacks/rips of classic fighting game characters such as Scorpion and Ken Masters, but also characters that have been fully built from the ground up such as Batman, Fat Albert, Homer Simpson, and hundreds of others.

nothing I can get working properly. I got snagit 8 now, and before that Murdar had given me camstasia, but they make the audio sound AWFUL no matter what I seem to adjust, and the video is a little choppy too, I chalk the video chopping up to my shitty laptop though.

I was using fraps too, where the audio comes out exceptional, but it makes the video look like this

any assistance would be appreciated.

oh I updated my select.def in the link above. added some mortal kombat guys and started ordering.

If camtasia is making the audio sound bad, firstly adjust your stereo mix volume and wave volume in windows, then tell it to save in the highest quality format, 44khz 16 bit stereo.

do eactly wht the pop up bubbles say to do. make sure it's set to capture video, then on the bottom right (to the left of that red circle) there whould be a bunch of things you can click, one of them is "include audio".

Where can I download characters from? (specifically MK, TV shows, and comic book character) I'd like to make some but first I want to learn a little about this stuff. And also, once I do download some characters, how do I 'install' them?

you can get characters all over the internets. start with the guys I posted above, cause I tested them myself and know that they work.

another good thing is to hit up mugen-infantry.net and check their database for links, that's kind of hit or miss though.

assuming you downloaded mugen already, unzip teh character, make sure theyre in a folder with the same name as their .def (watch out for that double folder shit. you dont want Ryu>Ryu>Ryu.def, you want Ryu>Ryu.def) then toss them into your "chars" folder. go into the "data" folder and open up "select.def" in there find the spot for characters under [characters]

there'll prolly be a bunch of instructional shit, so ignore that and go under it.

type your character's name EXACTLY like the .def and folder name are. each fighter on their own line.

you can add ordering and a designated song and stage later, if you'd like I'll show yo uthat too.

example:

avp_schaefer
Alien_W
Chrysalis
Lt.Kurosawa
predator_W
private
QUEEN
RazorClaws

Does anyone have any full Mugen games? I can't find them easily on the internet, and the ones I do find are crap.

I'm just looking for one with a huge selection of random characters.

Can anyone please send me some characters? I got the ones off of this page but I still want a bunch more (namely TMNT, Batman, Superman, and MMA fighters). If so please send them to TJHooker4444@yahoo.com

I've not seen MMA fighters, batman himself is a rarity (althought some batman characters might exist, like bane.) superman (alogn with lots of other superheroes) cna be downloaded at cdvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com, the TMNT are hard to find. I had them but I lost my stuff and am trying to rebuild.

once again, your best bet is the database at mugen-infantry.net. I upload guys and post them here every now and then, and a new bunch is in the works right now.

http://mugen-infantry.net/ didn't work?

I know there's a shitty rock, goldberg, and stone cold floating around, that use sprites fro ma GBA game, and someoen's making a batista out of SFIII urien, but he sucks too.

EDIT: I'm an idiot.

http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/ you meant that site.

after I get bomberman's characters uploaded for him I'll get batman up for download on your behalf.
